I just changed from the CR wing/garden view to the Poly Lagoon View. I did check out Tikiman's website (great info!) and that was very helpful.

If I don't fax a room request in, what are the odds of getting a view of MK, and are there any bad Poly LV rooms?

I hate to pester the front desk CM's with room requests, and we've already requested non-smoking, a king bed (if there even is such a thing at the Poly, if not 2 queens are fine, we aren't picky) and a refridgerator (since we're paying for it I don't mind requesting THAT, though!). But if I'm paying an extra $500 over the CR, then I want to make sure the view we do have is worth it!

Any recomendations? I figure anything in Tahiti is fine, but I want your expert opinions! Or should we even bother to request anything, since chances are good our view will be fine?

Tahiti all the way. The beach down this end of the resort is the quitest and IMO nicest and you are just seconds from the TTC.

Plus, the rooms in Tahiti are the largest standard rooms on Disney property! And they are some of the only rooms with double sinks in the bathroom. I would request first floor to get direct access to the beach whilst still enjoying the amazing views. There is no path between the beach and first floor rooms down at Tahiti - it is very private.

Aloha Chicago526,

There are not any rooms with King beds that are not suites. All rooms have two queens and a day bed. I would not worry too much about a bad lagoon view room. There a small amount that may have more plants around them and some upper floor rooms are right at eye level with the palm tops but these are very few. Front desk is not going to know what rooms have clear views and which ones don’t. Soma may know but I find that some of the staff is new and has never even walked out to the building. I say do as I do. I check in, take a look at the room and one year I even asked (very nicely) if there was any other room available and we were moved.

I hope this helps you not worry so much.

Aloha

Steve
