Poly in December?

I am contemplating planning a trip in Dec 2005. I was thinking the pools/beach would be great for my kids, but then I started questioning the weather. Generally, can you go in the pools at that time of year? Are the pools heated?

Thanks so much for any input. Also, if anyone stayed in Concierage, do you recommed a first floor patio or a third floor balcony? Thanks...

I stayed at the Polynesian last December and it was very VERY cold. But I think the pool was heated, as there was steam coming off it and it just felt warmer around the pool. I think when I was there Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach were alternating open weeks; something weird like that. And I haven't stayed in concierge, but, as far as a balcony or patio goes: I love balconies because you're up high(er). But with a patio you can walk right out of your room onto the beach and such. A patio might be better if you're staying in Hawaii concierge lagoon view. I'm not sure about the other concierge building (the one between Fiji/Aotearoa and the GCH?), but just from looking in, I think most (all?) of the lagoon view part is the King Kamehamea suite. :jester:

Both pools are heated and on all but one of our Dec./Jan. trips to WDW, our kids have gone swimming. The weather can vary widely, be sure to bring layers. It can be downright frigid in the am and warm by noon. Or it can be chilly all day. One trip, I think my husband wore shorts the whole week. It is just hard to know.
