i need suggestions! i'm going to WDW in september with a friend who hasn't been since she was a kid. on our first day we're going to kona cafe for breakfast, then to MK. we're staying at OKW. i know the easiest thing to do would probably be to take a bus to MK, then the monorail to the poly. but i don't want her to see MK that closely and then have to leave it. it's such a teaser and i don't want to do that to her! i know you can see MK from a distance at the poly, but that's different than pulling up to it and then having to pull away again! anyway, any other suggestions? i know another option would be taking a bus to epcot, getting on the monorail to the TTC, then getting on the monorail to the poly, but that seems like it would take awhile. please help! thanks!!!

(Sorry but if it is this big a deal to be "tortured" by seeing the MK, just cancel that breakfast IMHO )

You pretty much have outlined the two options for breakfast. Option three, take a cab from OKW to the Poly. (or drive if you rented a car)

it's not a *big deal*.....i just wanted to know if there were any other options. thanks.

The only other thought I can come up with is to take a bus to another park (MGM, or AK) and then the bus from there to the Polynesian

Just to add that (if you do the Epcot thing) once you get to the TTC, no need for another monorail. It's only a short walk to Kona from there.

i thought about that, too. do you know how long the walk is from the TTC to the main building at the poly (where kona is)?

Another choice is to go to DTD and take the Poly bus (I don't know how early your Kona ADR is :confused3 ).

the ADR at kona is at 8:00.

by the way, does anyone know how early the monorail starts running? i'm thinking since there's breakfasts served at all of the monorail resorts and at epcot and MK, that won't be an issue.

DTD won't work at 8 am. Probably the other parks wont' work either. The buses just don't start runing BACK to the resorts in time.

10 minutes absolute maximim. Probably less. I've never actually timed it, but we do that walk each trip. We always have breakfast at Kona on our MK day. We park at the TTC then walk right on over to Kona. The TTC is right next to the Poly, and the walkway is clearly marked..

cool! thanks! i remember seeing how close the poly was to the TTC on our last trip, but i just didn't know how the walk was. i think this will probably be our best bet. so we'll take the bus to epcot, then the monorail to the TTC, then walk to kona.

okay. next question: i'm thinking we'll leave OKW around 7:20. i've never tried to catch a bus that early before. do the busses start running to the parks that early? i'm thinking they would since there's the akershus breakfast at epcot, CP and CRT at MK, etc. and i'm assuming the monorail will have started by that time, too, right?

THANK YOU ALL-KNOWING DIS EXPERTS!!!! :thumbsup2

The resort monorail starts at 7am. Seriously, if you will have a car, I'd do as Uncleromulus suggests.

The buses start around 6:30 for breakfast.

You should be out at your stop at least 45 minutes prior to your ADR. Take a MK bus and once on the bus, ask the driver if he can drop you off at the TTC. If there are not a lot of guests it should not be a problem.

Have breakfast at the Crystal Palace that day instead? :)

It is a very short stroll for TTC to the Poly. As the above poster said, definitely less than 10 minutes.
