This is my boyfriend's and I first trip to wdw and we are looking at staying at the poly or CR and I stumbled onto this whole renting dvc thing. We are looking at going for 3 nights sometime from around the 20th of January til the beginning of Feb. When would be the best time to book? We would just want a studio as it's just the 2 of us. Idk this is a whole new world to me. Not sure if would be better to rent or just get regular rooms and hopefully will get a discount. Any advice appreciated!

With DVC, to be absolutely safe in getting what you want, you would book now. Owners of Poly can book starting 11 months from date of arrival and, after that window opens, every week that goes by increases the risk that the rooms will be full for the time you want. In no event should you wait past the 7-month reservation window, when owners of any DVC resort can start booking other DVC resorts at 7 months out from date of arrival.
