Poly DVC?

My girlfriend is down there right now and she could only talk for a min and we were talking about how she was looking at DVC and they told her they are building DVC for Poly

Can anyone tell me any info on that? Any links. It would be much appreciated!

That is EXACTLY what I told my DH!

She sound like she was talking about BLT (glass walkway, use "poly's" amenities, etc)

Bummer I was really hoping!

I think a Poly DVC has been a longstanding rumor as it was supposedly said by someone that they wanted a DVC component to each Deluxe resort, and Poly and GF are the only ones remaining - but I don't know who said it, or if it was really said at all.

I sure wouldn't mind it though....

I wish they would! I LOVE the Polynesian. I would sell all of my AKV points to buy in at a Poly DVC in a heartbeat!

Let's all cross our fingers that the Poly is the next DVC announced to be built!!

Poly DVC would be awesome. We stayed at the Poly on our last trip and it was awesome. It was incredibly relaxing and perfect really, I would definitely buy in as soon as I could.

We actually broached the subject with our Guide about how a Poly DVC would be absolutely perfect, and he said that, because of the DVC being built in Hawaii, that a Poly DVC was completely off the table for the time being. That said, "completely off the table" means to me that the possibility has obviously been discussed before. Here's hoping!!

Well, it's likely that EVERYTHING is off the table at the moment...

If I were to just throw ideas out there...

- GF would likely be the next "associated" location. I don't know where they'd put it, though. Across the canal closer to MK? A smaller DVC (ala GCV) where the parking lot is?

- Perhaps a resurrection of the Venetian/Mediterranean Resort, 100% DVC, to the other side of the TTC from the Poly (assuming they finally determine that they can build there)? That could be a VERY valuable location for DVC like BLT - especially for rooms that get put into CRO inventory.

- A new standalone location - perhaps the first DHS resort? Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Rock Star theme

This is NOT based on any information I have...

If DVC built a Poly or GF DVC it would be for one reason and one reason only. To see my family go into even more debt that we could possibly ever handle. I would be forced to buy into both of those. Who needs a house and mortgage? Who needs to send their kids to college? The dog only really needs to eat once a week, right? The only real need here is to buy more DVC points at Poly and GF!

I guess I should probably start saving up some cash for the possibility that it could become a reality sometime in the next 10 years, eh?

I would be interested in a DVC at the Poly. I spent my honeymoon there and loved it. BUT, that was with wife number 1, so I'm sure number 2 won't have anything to do with staying there.

Never say never...learned that about life a long time ago! Perhaps if they find the BLT a huge success and it sells out quickly...never know what they will think of next.

A while back there was someone here on the DIS that actually put up some very interesting drawings of how they could fit DVC into both the GF and the Poly. They looked extremely nice and doable...let's keep our fingers crossed.

As far as Hawaii vs. Poly DVC....one major difference, the cost of getting there! For a lot of us getting to WDW via car or plane and getting to Hawaii is a cost that can not be compared!

Let's not give up the hope!!!

Personally think razing buildings at Poly would be the way to go due to ages of some of the current buildings. Not too hot on a GF DVC, but Poly--probably selling a kidney for that one!!!!

Totally agree with this assessment.I too would go even deeper into debt to own DVC at Poly. Love this resort - my personal favorite and to have the room of a DVC I hope this fantasy of mine becomes reality. I said when I bought VWL 9 years ago that if they ever put one at the Poly I'm buying more.

Addonitis has infected me badly - haven't done it yet but.....Poly I am so there.

I'm sure there is a "plan" for a Poly DVC, along with lots of other possible DVCs. That doesn't mean it will happen.

My guess is that Poly has a good chance of being next up. But who knows?
