Poly DVC?

We just bought in and the only thing we know of is BLT, AKV and SSR.

Whitfamily: Welcome Home!!!!

DVC is actively selling BLT, AKV, and SSR at WDW. There are actually 11 DVC resorts now (or almost). In addition to the ones you mentioned:

At WDW:
OKW: Old Key West
VWL: Villas at Wilderness Lodge
BWV: Board Walk Villas
BCV: Beach Club Villas

North of Vero Beach Florida on the Atlantic Ocean:
VB: Vero Beach Resort

HHI: Hilton Head Island

At DisneyLand:
GCV: Grand Californian Villas

In Hawaii:
Construction in progress at Ko Olina Resort on O'ahu. I refer to this resort as "almost" because it has been announced and is under construction, it is not yet available for sale.

That was me!! Love keeping this wheel spinning!!

Personally think razing buildings at Poly would be the way to go due to ages of some of the current buildings. Not too hot on a GF DVC, but Poly--probably selling a kidney for that one!!!!

Wow! Are you sure you don't know something? Pretty good designs!

My girlfriend is down there right now and she could only talk for a min and we were talking about how she was looking at DVC and they told her they are building DVC for Poly

Can anyone tell me any info on that? Any links. It would be much appreciated!

Anything to sell more points.

Those are impressive designs! And they seem plausible. For the GF, I think the distance from the monorail would be problematic -- but might be solved if they built a walkway to the MK (though that would entail engineering some sort of bridge over the canal that holds the Electrical Pageant.)

But I suspect Disney will hold off on any other major timeshare investments for a while, until they gauge which direction the economy is headed. Hawaii -- if it's ever completed -- may well be the last big DVC undertaking for some time.

That's what I was thinking...they could finally build that bridge and bring the Walk Around The World one step closer to actually being a loop.

Hawaii is still a big ? in a few ways, but I think as soon as the economy recovers DVC will need to have something else up its sleeve, and I'm sure they do. Don't forget - to maintain their income they need to be able to continue selling all the way to 2042.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this. What happens in 2042 (besides many of the older DVC's contracts ending) that DVC needs to continue selling until then? :confused3

Contract ending IS the event. It means they can start selling those contracts again, and continue that income.

She must have been talking to a bus driver :lmao:

One of the bus driver told me they're building a All star DVC...:rotfl:
I think the bus drivers were trained to tell the passengers that the resort they like will become DVC. :rotfl: Disney stratgy. So in 10 years, every disney around the world will be DVC. ;)

I would love for the Poly to add DVC to it, then I can finally stay there. This will probably be the only resort that I would buy into besides my VWL.

I've been good (so far) by not buying into AKV but if the Poly DVC became a reality then I'm all in for sure!! We stayed at the Poly for our 10 yr anniversary and it was perfect!

I am not even an official member yet, but I would consider selling one of the BLT contracts I'm purchasing to buy at Poly.

No cast member would no before the rest of us. There are always tons of rumors... I mean a Contemporary DVC was going around for years and that... Ok bad example....

Seriously though, BLT was telegraphed by the big building... everyone pretty much knew what it was. To my knowledge, nothing like this is being built at the poly...

That being said, I wish they WOULD as I'd LOVE a poly DVC.

There is also the fact that DVC CMs have lost their jobs for spilling the beans before an official announcement. They'd be putting their job in danger if they started speaking about a Poly DVC.

It seemed a CR DVC was pretty well known about long before ground was broken, though...but the CMs and guides were sworn to secrecy.

Agreed... GFV does nothing for me... Just like I think BLT is cool, but hesitate to buy in because of the high costs... rather go with BWV or BCV and roll the dice at 7 months. Plus we usually go during non-peak times anyway, so I like my odds.

Disagree entirely... unless they get out of the timeshare business completely...

Now we may not see any more at WDW for a while... but there will be something. My guess is that once two of the three sell out, we will start hearing rumors or see announcements on construction of a new WDW resort. Either standalone or at one of the hotels... DVC Pop Century ;-)

I also think we may see a Euro Disney one or another DLR one.

Actually, they didn't know at all. They, like us, just assumed it was DVC. But DVC forbids them to talk about Rumors of any kind... if they do, they can be terminated.

I applaud your efforts .. nice job overall. However, if you look at your Poly design it just doesnt seem feasible .. you are basically "crowding" the property with additional buildings .. the beauty of the place is its serenity and with extra structures there would be many views containing nothing more than "the longhouse across the way" .. thereby killing the overall ambience to a large extent. Not impossible mind you .. but it would make more sense to convert the 3rd floors to DVC and if you add more structures, add them somewhere else (extend the property somehow). I for one just dont see it happening given the space available .. the GF one however seems pretty cool as long as they could provide a path directly to MK (monorail too far). Nice job.
