Poly concierge

ok, here's the deal. We have a dear friend who has gotten us her castmember discount at the poly, lagoon view for $192/night. (we love her!) To upgrade to concierge would be $50 more per night. I want to know exactly what I would be getting for my money. We have 3 little ones, 8, 6, & 2. Is the food & snacks worth it? Are there cocktails offered? It will be the last 4 nights of a 2 & 1/2 week trip (dvc boardwalk & mil's timeshare off property), so we will probably be getting low on cash. We also plan to make more use of the resort (1st time there)...decisions, decisions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you intend to "make more use of the resort," I would definitely go for it!! Heck, I'm paying a lot more than $50 extra per night for LV concierge at the Poly (of course, it is peak season!)

You probably need to do the math on this. Concierge does have food out at times each day, breakfast, lunch, supper and in between there are always snacks. With little little ones it might add up to a savings. As far as the drinks, there are cordials and wine every night. and the view for the lounge is awesome.

I think it is well worth the money if your kids like to have a basic breakfast of cereal, toast, fruit, or danish. Soft drinks available all day. Huge cookies available in the afternoon. Heavy appetizers and wine available from 5-7, along with pb&j sandwiches for the kids. And finally tasty little pastry type desserts and cordials available from 8-10 p.m. My kids (8 & 11) thought it was the neatest place they had ever stayed. We went out for lunch and then only needed a light meal for dinner anyway, so it worked out great for us and it was nice to have the option of a glass of wine, which I normally wouldn't splurge on. My favorite part was to have a little cordial and dessert and watch the Electric Light Parade from the beach.

My kids will be disappointed if they don't have the conceirge available on our next trip to WDW! I think I have spoiled them for life! We were only there for a long weekend, so it wasn't too expensive with the AP discount.

We stayed last July for a week, and actually were upgraded to concierge for free. I personally would never pay the additional cost, but we spent a lot of time in the parks so missed a lot of the offerings. We did enjoy breakfast, but I usually take food with us for breakfast anyway so we never eat it out. I also take my own snacks to save money. So, I guess if you eat everything they offer, it might be worth the money, if not, than it isn't. We use the refillable mugs, so the drinks aren't that big a deal either. I would just rather use my money on more trips to Disney!

Yes it would be worth it, if you are going to be back in the evening or the afternoon. Just think of all the drinks all day, bottled water for the parks, fruit oranges, bananas, apples and pears all day. They put out food at the supper hour, which was more than enough for us, with salad, bowl of fruit. Cakes,cupcakes, wine, juice, pop at 8 every night. It is fun to watch the castle change colours while having your nightly snack.

I think it would make your trip a little easier with little ones, having somewhere close to get food for them.
I would definitely go for it, for that price, you may never have a chance like that again. Most people pay between 300 to 400 for concierge.

My family loved having a place to go for food all day.

Go for it, you only live once and you are making memories that will last a lifetime.

I think that is an awesome price for concierge and I would take it in a heartbeat. The price of breakfast for a family if 5 adds up, add to that some snacks, soda,milk. I think its a great deal.

I agree with the others; you are getting a great price for a level of service that normally costs $300-$400...go for it!

The benefit of being able to stop in the lounge for drinks, snacks, etc. can not be underestimated. If your family is like ours, everyone gets hungry on a different time frame, and it is heaven to be able to meet everyone's needs without having to trek over to a food court every couple of hours. The view from your lagoon room is truly magical and the Poly grounds are so relaxing/calming for kids after the overstimulation of the parks. The volcano pool is terrific with zero entry for the young ones. And best of all, the concierge staff will do their best to make all your PS requests come true (CRT, dinner shows, cruises, etc).

Stupid question, but we are going to the POLY the last week in Sept...what is the cost difference from a room only rate during this time frame (anyone know expected discounts rates?) and concierge level ?? I need to do "the math" to see if the extras are worth it..
