Hello I am really needing help and opinions! I am cruising on the Disney Fantasy and decided to spend two days before my cruise at WDW to celebrate my birthday!:cool1:

With that being said, I decided that I wanted to try the Polynesian for the first time. I was hoping for a Garden View but with the discount for Fall the only room type that was available was Club Level Lagoon View and it comes with a hefty price tag!

Alternatively, I also had her price BWI club level, I have stayed there before and love the Cast Members there, and it prices almost $400 less.

So I am at a Crossroads! I had her hold the Polynesian but I am having buyer's remorse.....:sad2:

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Please help me decide!! I am just afraid I may not love the Poly as much as I do BWI. (partially because I haven't stayed there and also because of mixed reviews).

Thanks for your help!princess:

For the price, I would go BWI on this one. Keep checking though as Poly GV may be put in the discount inventory any day - it fluctuates all the time!

I think you will love the Poly but it depends how badly you want to hold onto that $400.

How does laying in bed watching the castle change colors sound? Or tiki torches lit around the resort at night? Sitting on your patio or the beach watching the monorail/Electric Water Pageant? Enjoying the sounds and smells of that luscious lobby? Experiencing all the Hawaii building has to offer? ;)

I say go for it. Try something different. FWIW it was one of the best resort experiences we've ever had. :goodvibes

Wow you both make good points and Pea-n-Me I am so tempted by that description of the view from the room. (I did request a third floor balcony). Thank you both for your responses.

Please keep them coming!!:beach:

We have stayed at both. Strictly for atmosphere I would go with Poly. Nothing beats looking out the window and seeing the castle. Or grabbing a beverage from the lounge and watching Wishes from the beach. The lounge at BWI has no real view IMO.

That said, BWI CL is also excellent. The staff is super. The Boardwalk is fun. I guess it comes down to how much you want to hold onto that $400

Good luck making a decision! Either way you'll have a fabulous time :-)

Stayed at the Poly in a GV CL room Summer 2011. Had stayed in regular GV rooms many times prior at the Poly and did not think it could get better. After staying in the Hawaii building, there is no going back for us when we stay there. First, it is a private club level building, not a club level floor. It is very convenient to the pool, beach, GCH. The lounge is huge and it is two stories, full glass, with a view of the Magic Kingdom. Nightly inside seating to the EWP and Wishes from the lounge if you choose. In your case, you will have a LV room and you can have desserts etc and watch from your balcony. We thought the food options were great and plentiful. We have stayed at the BWI and really liked it. We booked the BWI CL and cancelled. I am sure there are MANY pluses that I might miss from not staying BWI CL. But if your are looking for any of the POLY specific conveniences and amenities that the Hawaii building offers, book the Poly.:goodvibes

We've never stayed at BWI, but have stayed at the Poly (although not CL) and after staying at all but 3 of the deluxe resorts, the Poly is our favorite :goodvibes. You can't beat the beautiful tropical atmosphere, IMO, and it's so magical having a distant view of the castle from just about anywhere on the Poly grounds :cloud9:. Since you want to try the Poly, I think I would go with that and give it a try as you will never know if it's a resort for you unless you experience it for yourself. Good luck :wizard:.

We have stayed at the Poly in a regular GV and fell in love with the resort the minute we checked in :lovestruc. We are trying GV CL in July 2013 and one of the reasons is for the location of the Hawaii building. We stayed in Samoa and loved being so close to everything, so booking CL will put us in the same great location since the Hawaii building is right next to Samoa ;). I have had reservations about booking Poly CL with all of the negative reviews I've read, but I finally decided that we need to give it a try for ourselves. Glad you had a great stay and will be going back. The only thing now is you have me tempted to look into LV CL instead of GV .

I knew you were going to say that! I think it's nice to try at least once. I've thought about booking GV if we ever stay there again since we've had the experience already. (But who knows, lol.)

Another nice thing, seaprincess, is that when you arrive they greet you at the door to the building with leis and once you get inside for check in they have icy cold drinks right there while you wait, and a little package for the kids, etc.

You are not going to want to leave for your cruise! :rotfl2:

We were upgraded from Poly GV CL to a LV CL room on our trip in February. It was flat out amazing! We were on the first floor (room 1502), so we could walk right out to the beach from our room in the evenings and had our own private viewing area for Wishes. I would never dream of staying at the Poly again without at least a Lagoon view. I would show you some pics, but I am not sure how to upload them.

Love that location. We have stayed in 1501 and 1503.

That's one thing I'm afraid of.....once we try CL I probably won't want to stay in a regular GV again :rolleyes1. We are taking a 3 night cruise in July 2013 and are doing WDW a few nights before and a few nights after, with the Poly being after for the reason you stated to the OP......I know I won't want to leave, especially staying CL :rotfl:.

What a great upgrade.....glad you had an amazing time :goodvibes.

I've never stayed at the BC CL but the Poly CL has the best lounge in my opinion. Having a little snack while staring across the lake to the MK is awesome. I also love walking through the Poly at night with the torches lit up. And don't even get me started on how much I love coming back to that lobby with the waterfall! :goodvibes It's your birthday - treat yourself and you won't regret it :)

Could not have said it better myself :)
