We are staying August 24-31th and super excited!:banana: :banana: I keep reading about the terrible bus service at this resort. First off, we have stayed at Value, Moderate, and Deluxe, often, and have not had any issues that we usually read about - With the exception of the Boardwalk. When we stayed there, we shared with YC/BC, Swan, Dolphin, and this slowed every trip down so much, we ended up getting off at Swan and Dolphin to walk further back to the Boardwalk.

So my questions are;

1- How many other resorts do we share with,
2 - What order are we picked up and/or dropped off
3 - How often do the buses run (compared to other resorts)

I know it only affects HS, AK, DD, and TL, but I would still be dissapointed with the money we are spending this trip to stay at the Poly, to end up with bad bus service. Any opinions would be much appreciated!! Jane

Well, I was last there in late 2006 but we had no trouble with bus service at all! Nice waiting area ... no trouble getting back. We used the buses for HS and AK. Oh yes ... and once to DTD. The DTD did have a little wait back and the only one that was super crowded.

Hopefully others will chime in ... but I was satisfied. I think it may also depend on when you are going.

We loved the Poly for the quick monorail to MK and the short walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. :thumbsup2

PS: I know we shared with GF ... but I'm not even sure Poly shared with Contemporary or not. I only remember the GF for bus service.

The Polynesian will always share a bus with the Contemporary and sometimes both Resorts will also share with the Grand Floridian. No matter what the Polynesian is always the 2nd stop when being picked up and dropped off. Last December when my family and I stayed there the only park we went to that required bus service was Hollywood Studios and in the morning the bus was right there when we got to the bus section. When going back we took the bus to the TTC since the Polynesian bus was not there and from there we walked back to the Polynesian.

We had no problems with the bus at the Poly. As far as the Boardwalk, I couldn't agree with you more! Its the only resort that we have stayed thus far where I felt like there just had to be some sort of a better system. Loved the rest of the resort but will rent a car if I ever stay there again.

Have fun at the Poly, its wonderful!

Thank you so very much! I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear from someone who understands my concerns. :goodvibes I always hear people complaining about busing at all of the resorts, and I really never get what they are talking about. We truly love AKL, and it boggles my mind when I hear people complain about that resort also. You have one designated stop, never had a problem. But the Boardwalk was so dissapointing that it made me begin to worry about the Poly. I was afraid we would encounter the same problems. Thanks again!! Back to the excitement!!:banana: :banana: Jane

We're at the CR now and move to the Poly Friday for 9 nights. Right now, CR and Poly are sharing buses and GF and WL share. We are the first stop, like CRResortFan4Life said, and when we've picked up at Poly, we've always gotten all the people waiting on the bus, some standing, but at least no one's had to wait for anyother bus...:)

I have never had bus problems at any other resort. I hear people complain about CBR's seven stops and to me that is nothing compared to making all the stops the Boardwalk busses did for our trip. Busses were prompt and they were never overly full, it just took forever. Especially going to AK, when you had to make all the resort stops, then go to Blizzard Beach, then finally to AK. The times I have used Poly busses, it hasn't been anything like that.

Older resorts such as Poly and CR have fewer rooms, therefore fewer potential riders at any one time.

We never had any problems with the buses at the Poly. And on a few occasions, (leaving DHS after Fantasmic) we took the bus to the TTC and walked back to our room. If you have a room close to TTC- we were in Tahini- this is almost closer than walking from the Poly bus stop.

Again ... the advantage of having the TTC within walking distance is huge. We were at the Poly in early June and really had no bus-related issues at all getting to Studios and AK ... but both times on the return trip we ended up taking a TTC bus and hoofing it home from there.

Stay flexible ... it helps.
