It was just the part about using the pool that apparently started the trouble. We love visiting the resort and dining and shopping and visiting the beach. Be sure to get something to drink at the little gift shop before the fireworks start and maybe try to see the Electrical Water Pageant if you have time.Did not intend to start a firewar. Just thought from all the post that is would be ok to go and watch the fireworks at Poly beach. Do not intend to use the pool or infringe on any of the resorts. Just want to have a nice dinner and go and watch the fireworks. Thanks for all the information.![]()

Is there a path to walk from the Poly to the TTC? If so, how far of a walk is it? We may end up staying offsite and if we do, it might be easier to park at the TTC and walk back rather than taking the monorail loop and having to deal with the crowds leaving the MK.
If we do stay onsite at POR, what would be the easiest/least congested way to get back to our resort?
Thanks!
Wow! I just did a search on this question and found many people go to dinner at the Poly and stay for the fireworks. I have in my plan for my next trip to include dinner at Kona and watching the fireworks. While I understand that pool-hopping is against the rules, I thought the restaurants and beaches and things were part of Disney. Going with the idea that only Poly guests can use the Poly beach suggests I can't take the monorail to the resort for dinner. I also thought I could go to a beach with boat rentals etc. and rent a boat even if I wasn't staying at that resort.
That's good to hear, it's really how it should be. Nobody want to pay for a deluxe hotel and have guests from elsewhere crowd it.
Okay guys I guess I overreacted. I just got to thinking that if everyone and their uncle used the pool it would be terribly crowded. And people staying there would never get a chair at all. I think the post that said that they make a day of it, swim, etc put me over the top. Just isn't right. The beach is big and if people go there at night, not use the pool, it is probably okay. I want everyone to enjoy themselves at Disney!!
Where would be the best place to have the taxi drop up off for Poly beach and the fireworks?

You can park at the Poly for 3 hours to dine, shop, and watch fireworks. That's what we did. I just wanted to make sure you knew this as we wouldn't have known if someone on here hadn't told us.
Thanks! That would be the easiest whether we are staying onsite or off! We would like to tour some of the resorts this trip and it would be a great time to get a Doyle Whip!
Sorry OP but a bit OT
If we want to cab back to our resort POR. After the fireworks. Are we better off preordering one? Or is their a long line of cabs waiting???
We dont want to be stuck and have to fight for a cab. If we order will they know to wait for our name, or there cab takers???
The Poly beach is one of the best locations to watch the fireworks outside the parks, but doesn't come close to being in MK itself.
