Poly and what would follow

I would hope in the future to have more DVC options near DLR and DCA by either expanding at GCV or convert some of the rooms at Disneyland Hotel and/or Paradise Pier.

They won't do it until Aulani is mostly sold, but I agree with Ludari, one thing that should happen in the next decade or so is more rooms near the DLR parks. Personally I'm hoping for and would consider buying a DLH hotel.

Although equally logical is for them to have a DVC attached to Disneyland Paris or Tokyo Disney, or even HK DL. Attach more DVCs to parks, as those have sold better and more consistently than non-park attached options and DVC-ers tend to be theme park lovers.

I would imagine a whole new DVC resort would be the next phase; can't see them turning the moderates into DVC and a Yacht Club DVC would only further complicate the already overcrowded SAB and drain more resources on the boats and buses in the EPCOT resorts.

I had commented in a previous thread that if they are going to build a whole new resort, plans should pop up online fairly soon. I imagine that, given the info leaked this far, it won't take very long to build the Poly. My guess is it will be available in early to mid 2015. I also expect that it will sell out faster than any previous DVC resort given it's popularity and relatively small size. If that's the case, DVC will have to be building something before the Poly even goes on sale otherwise they may well have a gap in time with <gasp> no new resort to sell.

I'm feeling like the exact same argument could be used for the DVC addons at basically all of the deluxes (AKV being something of an exception since it actually added new amenities with the build out)... it increases the crowds at the existing resort amenities, and taxes already burdered transportation systems. Yet that didn't stop BLT, GFV, or (now) Poly.

My hope would be a brand new resort with new a new and unique theme, but I also don't necessarily bet on it.

They are going to build a massive, multi-stage DVC in the Magic Kingdom's parking lot.

I see your silly answer and raise you:
It will be Nascar themed and overlook the racetrack. (cringe. I can hear a crowd shouting yes!)

I am not a fan of mixing campground and DVC. And I agree that a moderate DVC would be interesting but screw up the economics. You would have to reduce it to studios only to make it work.

I would like to see one or more of these:
* Expand WLV with another big wing, another pool, another restaurant.
* Build a new DVC resort in the space between the TTC and CR
* Build a new DVC resort southeast of the Studios
* Build a new DVC resort on the EPCOT monorail line

How about a Hollywood Hotel near DHS. It could be like the ToT only a real hotel. Creepy and Disney at the same time! Just don't get on the elevator!

I heard a rumor that DVC bought or owns land by Blizzard beach and one of the upcoming projects is building a DVC exclusive resort there - no mention of the theme but the land is already DVC land.

I would like to see value and moderate DVC with lower points per night. I wouldn't mind staying value if it means I could make longer and more frequent trips :cool1:
We had some long and drawn out discussions on this subject a few years ago. My view is it's unlikely to happen but it can be done without creating the obvious issues that it could.

While I doubt they do, IF they did, it'd likely be a new system with a crossover option only available to retail buyers. However, I think it wouldn't be difficult to create such a system that was appropriate both directions within DVC itself.

Marriott tried this a few years ago maybe (12-13) with a separate brand (Horizon's). They originally planned 4 resorts, announced 3 formally and built 2. Their model, compared to their usual MVCI resorts, was slightly smaller, slightly less luxurious and cheaper aimed more at younger families on lower budgets. IIRC they were maybe 10-20% cheaper than their comparable but nicer resorts. They had an interchange function for exchanging that gave the members of each system an internal priority but the other side access before any access by non Marriott exchangers through II (II did the internal exchanging for Marriott at that time). They later abandoned the program and rolled the 2 resorts into MVCI itself. Some would say they did create the unfair situation you suggest with lower buy in price and dues but in reality there were always protections based on inherent value and demand under II and by points differences under their new system. Personally I think it was a viable program but they made mistakes. I think the largest mistake was not cutting the price enough to create a real difference.

I'd like another off WDW property DVC resort like HHI and VB. Maybe on the gulf or up north like Cape May or Bar Harbor...or a lake resort (would love Lake Lure)...or ski resort.

I was going to write the same thing.

Also, I think a new timeshare is buing built near DLP at the moment (Village Nature). Maybe they might get a portion for an european DVC.

Any of this would be awesome. My personal choice, is the last one.

This was the rumored large California themed resort from a few years ago. Designs were found on a company web site.
The resort would be located between BB and DHS.
