This is for a trip right before thanksgiving of this year, Will be myself, my wife and my two boys age 7 and 5.

We stayed at Boulder Ridge two years ago and enjoyed it, stayed at Port Orleans last year due to budget issues with extended family and did not love a standard room with two young boys.

Poly is where I would prefer to stay, but my question is what are my odds of getting a ground floor studio so me and my wife can sit outside the room when my boys head to bed for the night?

Every DVC studio at Poly has either a patio or a balcony, so you will be able to sit outside of your room regardless of what floor you are on. But you can call Member Services and have them place a request for a ground floor room on your reservation. It’s not a guarantee of a ground floor but at least your preference will have been made known.

Thanks so much for whatever reason in my head it was that it was just ground floor thanks for making my poly booking easier

some buildings on 2nd floor have no balcony. only 1st and 3rd floors. and some buildings have balconies on 2nd floor. cant see much from sitting through those railings, unlike some other dvc studios you can sit and even though there is a railing you can see. Hard to describe but we found that out on our short time at Poly before jumping ship to CCV

All DVC longhouses have 2nd floor balconies. It is the hotel side where 2nd floor lacks a balcony. It is based on the vintage and construction process used for the involved longhouses.
