Got the Poly/SV for $170/night 12/7 - 12/14 with the Fl resident code. Never stayed there but always wanted to ? Is this as good a rate as I think ? We're just DH, DS (1 year ) & me. We had Swan ressies for the $139 AP rate but planning on canx. Any suggestions ? Will we love it ? I'm getting really excited. :Pinkbounc

$170 is a very good rate for the POLY these days. I remember once upon a time when the FL resident rate there was $129 a night, waterview!!

I must tell you though, the Swan is a great resort and with the renovations it's even better.

I loved the POLY once upon a time and the location to MK is great and the atmosphere is very nice but I have been reading that many are a little disappointed with the upkeep vs. the value. But, you'll judge for yourself.

If I were in your shoes I'd split the stay only because POLY is so convenient to MK and the Swan is so convenient to EPCOT & MGM. Both resort areas offer very different atmospheres:p

I'd snap their arms off;)

I've got ressies at $350 a night for 2 nights in October. And this amount includes AAA discount. Sadly I don't have an AP, but from the UK $350 per night is a heck of a lot of money, especially considering I've gotten a pool view room at the HRH for $160 per night:( .

To be honest, as convenient as the Poly is, I'm beginning to wonder whether it will be worth paying this amount of money, especially since we probably won't be spending that much time actually in the resort.

For our short stay in Orlando this trip we're only spending one night at MK (MNSSHP) and one day at Epcot. The rest of the time we're visiting BG and then 2 days at USF/IOA.

I've been looking at Swan and Dolphin and WL - anyone got any views, pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaase (nearly at pulling hair out stage:rolleyes: ;) ).

I liked the Polynesian, I really did. But we stayed there because we got a great rate and we thought it would be a great resort to just kick back at during the day. With the rain we got we never got to just hang out at the pool or meander around the grounds. I would probably change to a cheaper resort for just two days. Especially if you aren't going to be at the resort very much. That's a lot of money to spend to just sleep. WL looked very nice.

Its a great rate! We have stayed there in the past few years a couple times for around 200.00 and once for 260.00. Im a big fan of the Poly and this was about the most I could pay at those times so I was very happy with that.
However, we too were booked at the Swan from 12/20-12/29 with the AP rate. After checking I was able to get the Poly for 170.00(189.55 with tax) for the last 5 nights of that trip. I cannot believe that price over the holidays. We were excited about trying out the Swan so we are keeping the first 4 nights there and then moving to the Poly on Christmas Eve, and staying for the holiday and my birthday. :D
Good luck deciding.

$170 sounds like a great rate to me, we paid $221.00 this past June with an AP rate;)
