Hi! I got this idea from the AKV thread. My family is planning a November, 2010 trip. Right now we are booked at SSR (our home resort). For this trip everyone in the family picked a different resort to try. Help us decide...vote for your favorite and I'd love to hear why you picked it! Thanks!

ETA: It will be me, DH, DS12 and DS7. We have stayed at SSR and VWL and like them both.

 My home is also SSR and I have never stayed anywhere else yet. However, if I were to try a different resort, I'd start with BLT just for the ability to watch Wishes from the room:rolleyes1

I really liked SSR, BCV for the pool (I visited my friends there, never stayed), but BLT just looks like my kind of hotel! Luxury and close to MK!

I voted for BCV because it is my favorite and I love being around the Boardwalk area. Have a back up plan ready or a couple ideas when you call, especilly if it is near Thanksgiving. It may be difficult at 7 months

Did you consider a split stay. I have one for Food and Wine. 4 days at BCV and 4 days at BLT. I am going with my 4 sisters, first only adult trip for me ever.:woohoo::woohoo:

I voted for OKW. A nice break after the pandemonium of the parks.

I voted for BLT. We love it and I think once it sells out, it will be much harder to get into if you're not an owner.

BLT here, short walk to magic kingdom so if tired can walk or monorail back and go back again at night, 2 pools to choose from, monorail to epcot and surrounding resorts so you only have to wait and fight your way onto buses for 2 parks instead of 4, the view not only in rooms but when you come and go, we loved the top of world lounge minus the strange rules. Our favorite perk is that on our arrival day we check in and do not wanna do to much with 2 small ones after a day of travel, so we go and grab a nice character meal in our own hotel at Chef Mickeys and meet the 5 main characters.

We simply love the night life of the Boardwalk, the fireworks, the magic. Most of all, we simply love being able to stroll over to Epcot (or DHS) whenever the mood hits.

I don't think there's a bad choice - just start working your way through the resorts until you have stayed everywhere. If you are planning to do MVMCP in November, I'd give BLT the edge for this particular trip. If it's earlier -probably AKV because the savanna will be pleasant in the cooler weather. Early enough for F&W and I'd give BWV props.

Personally, I'd save BCV and the pool for solidly summer weather - May-September. It's a pool best enjoyed when it's hot enough to be pleasant while wet and out of the pool (and can walk across the path and climb up to the top of the slide without being cold).

Thanks to everyone who voted and/or replied. I appreciate all the advice. I hope I have good luck at the 7 month mark!

I say go with VWL if you can get it! Since WDW starts decorating for the holidays in November I think VWL would be perfect!

I say try BLT now, you kids are still young enough to love MK and the walk is awesome. Try it while it still has the new smell etc, nice place.

I'd probably pick VWL for the holidays, or maybe BCV, since I have never stayed there. If I had to rank them in the order I'd stay it would be:
BCV
VWL
SSR
BWV
BLT
