POLL: Which hotel should we stay in? Please vote!
p.s. CAN U STATE WHY?? and WHY NOT??

Today got a postcard in mail offerening a promo. code - discounts on hotels (from disney) - Caribbean beach @ $94 a nite (King bed / NS) in October 8 nites~

Put temporary hold on that and also have resrvation w/ HAWTHORN SUITES
in Lake Buena Vista. - comes w/ breakfast, indoor corridors

Read on this site wondeful reviews for SPRING HILL SUITES IN MARRIOTT VILLAGE. - comes w/ breakfast, indoor corridors

CARIBBEAN BEACH - pluses: Disney hotel, fun atmosphere,
CONS: exterior corridors- fear walking far to and from car and desolate-
can't walk anywhere from hotel; no breakfast

Hawthorn Suites: pluses - are all the cons of Carib. Beach
cons: couple mixed reviews; not sure??

Spring Hill Suites: - s/as hawthorn.

PLEASE NOTE: We like to walk thru the main lobby a/c coming and going from our hotel room. and love free breakfast and inside rooms...

sprnghill vs hawthorn?? :hyper:  somebody straighten this out for me!
H E L P!

Every hotel gets a bad review every once in a while. How many people are there in your party? That makes a difference. Also, how much are the suite hotels? Do you have a car?

If there is 4 people in your group then the Caribbon Beach Resort will be fine.

Now if six people I go with Hawthorn Suites and with the free breakfeast. i only do offsite with a rental car or my own car.

Hi guys! YES we are renting a car.

We are 2 adults , no kids.

We LOVE to relax in the morning /7am and eat breakfast at a table and talk about
our plans for the day, where in CBR, we'd just come and go from the room.

I never liked exterior corridors. BUT i heard that at night you can hang out on the beach (is it safe?) at CBR, but then again, it could be VERY FAR from our builidng (which we have no choice over since it's a promo deal)......

undecided! have to decide by 8/18 - the cut off date for CBR courtesy hold!!!

EGH!

1 thing i thought about: at suites and hawthorn suites and hotels w/ full kitchens, etc. has anyone ever thought about the possibility of BUGS??

I believe all King rooms at mods are water view. Now water view could mean facing the pool or lake. And you can always request a certain building you'd like to be in when you make the reservation or fax a request or even ask at check-in if it is available. You will not be guarenteed the requested building, but you can always request.

That's the one I would pick, but maybe you've already checked that one.

If that one is gone........... I don't know. I think I would spring for Wilderness Lodge. I received the email with the discount, and the email talked about value and moderate resorts. I called and they offered me deluxe rates also. Maybe you could try that.

Hi! My vote was for Springhill Suites - the only one we've stayed in so far. However, after reading that it is just two adults, I'd probably go for the Disney property just because it's Disney! We loved the Springhill for many reasons, but most of those were because of our two children. The breakfast was great for us - just what we eat at home: bagels, toast, cereal, fruit, etc. The pool had a nice resort feel to us - although, we're not used to fancy, so it seemed really fance to the kids!! The indoor corridors are a big plus to me - again mostly because of kids. Laundry facility on our floor - once more a must with my girls and DH!! Most of all, we loved the extra tv in the sitting area because DH likes to stay up later and the girls could fall asleep on the bedroom side. Loved the micro and fridge - put both to use often!

Anyway, besides that, we were close driving distance to everything both Disney and non.

Good luck deciding! Again, in your situation, I might go with Disney!

It's likely that you will get skewed results with your poll. Those who prefer an onsite moderate will all choose CBR. Those who prefer an offsite suite w/interior corridors and breakfast will split their votes between the two choices suggested. If you are able to add another onsite option to your poll, it may provide better insight to people's opinions.

I also see different pros & cons for a couple w/o kids than you did.

CBR - pros - convenient bus shuttles, pretty theme and ambiance at night, nice walking paths, acceptable food court for simple meals, onsite restaurant & lounge, EE (if you're inclined to get up early on vacation to ride thrill attractions), shuttle to your room after late night partying at DTD, feels like "Disney."

CBR - cons - probably costs more (including breakfast costs), could be a loooong walk to your room from the car or bus shuttle, no inroom fridge/micro, older buildings (which, btw, may be more likely to have bugs), lots of kids (attracted to the theme pool). AllEarsNet.com suggests planning 45 min from your room to theme park turnstiles (walk to bus, wait, ride, walk to gate) - never took us nearly that long from any offsite.

HS/SHS - pros - parking near your room, free breakfast, interior corridors, more room space, more comfort in your room (sofa, dining area/kitchenette), more likely to find better offsite meals for the price paid - saving $. At SHS, you would have access to the rest of Marriott Village and its services/facilities - this is a nice area.

HS/SHS - cons - no theme, offsite so requires a car for everything, opposite of most CBR pros.

As usual, it depends on what matters more to you. For some, the onsite, Disney, detailed theme of the resort and relief from driving matter so much that they would take an All Stars room over an upscale offsite resort. And vice versa. HTH. :)

I voted for Carribean Beach. Simply because it's a Disney resort and that holds more weight than any off-site resort or hotel for a trip to WDW.

Outside of WDW, any of the other choices may be better.:)
