Poll : When staying at FW what % of the days are in the park?

We have backed off from 90% of the time to around 60% of the days are spent in the parks.

In the past we have done 100%. This year we are going to reduce but not sure how much. I'm interested in opinions. I also would like to know what campers do about meals. Do you split and do some at campsite?

This Christmas we only did about 30% in parks, partly due to the rainy weather. We usually do about 50%. When We're on vacation, we don't feel obligated to keep a schedule. And with AP's, we have a lot of freedom to do as we wish. And with three special needs kids, we have a lot of work to do wherever we are.

We do breakfast in the MH, but it's usually a brunch. Then DS13 is ready to eat at whichever park we go to....hamburger, cheesburger, hot dog, or pizza. Dinner (or supper) is usually back at the MH unless we stay for a late attraction, then we grab something quick in the park.

Last year we spent 100% in the parks. This year we are there for 9 days with 5 in the parks. We discovered that we could use some down time at the Fort to relax. As to meals we plan to eat one meal at the parks on the days we are there otherwise we eat in the RV. That's one of the reasons we got it so we can reduce our expenses when traveling. I also dislike the fact that due to Disney's dinning plan setup you have to put in your reservations way in advance to get in to most of the restaurants. I do not want to plan my vacation around my meals.

We spend 100% of the days in the park. We travel with our dogs, so we come back for meals and to make sure they have time to socialize. Some days we may only spend a couple of hours in the parks, but I really enjoy going to the parks. The Magic Kingdom is my favorite.

We spent 75% in the park probably in April. When I was a kid, I don't remember, but we did spend a lot of time doing things in Fort Wilderness. My trip in November will be different for me, because we will have the dog and we haven't stayed for 2 weeks before.

We travel with 2 dogs and we stay for 2 weeks. The advantage of staying for 2 weeks is that you can slow down and really enjoy yourselfs. If the line is long for a ride, just come back another day. Also, bringing ours dogs has never been a problem. They also make us slow down. We take the time to walk them and of course, come back for them to eat. We eat at the motorhome, so the dogs schedules and ours work well together. You'll have a great time being able to stay for 2 weeks.

We typically go to a park everyday, but sometimes for only a few hours. We eat breakfast everyday in the cabin, and about half of the other meals there.

My wife and I spend about six weeks at the fort and do not go to the parks at all....but we do go out to eat about once a week or so on property at the hotels and such, It's not that we don't like the parks it's just we have been so much since the early 90s we are kinda parked out! Give me people to watch,the porch, and a rocker, any day!!! Now thats entertainment at it's best. K.

I would say 50 to 60% of the time is spent in the parks. The longer we go the less time we spend. We have been staying at FW for about 2 years. Last year we got annual passes. We will get them again this year. Because of that I don't feel pressure to rush around at the parks. We spend the mornings at FW because my DH is not an early riser. We take the dogs to the dog park or for a long walk in the morning. We get to the parks around 10:30 or 11:00. We stay until around 3:00 and then come back until after dinner then we may go back or we may not. It just depends on the crowds, weather and what we feel like doing. I do know that this year we are going to try to do more at FW.

We spend at least part of every day in a park. Usually head to a park early in the morning and stay til around 2. Then may go back after dinner. The trip is too expensive and too long to just spend my time at the Fort! As for meals, we eat out once a day or less. Rarely go out for dinner.

Depends on our long we stay. If it's a long time about 1/4 to 1/3 ..
If its a short stay, 1/2 .

We usually go to the MK and EPCOT, but that's it. Only once in a while will we visit DHS or AK. So, usually just 2 days of a 8 day trip are spent in parks.

I spend from 11.25% to 12.15% of my time at the park. Approx 19.72% of the time is spent sleeping. The remaining 68.13-69.03% of the time is spent eating, drinking and going to the bathroom. I do not waste any time bathing or otherwise cleaning myself. Cuts into my vacation too much.

We normally spend 70% of our time in the parks. This trip will only be about 50-60%.

We eat all of our breakfasts at camp except for one. On our nonpark days we eat lunch or dinner at camp as well. I don't cook anything major as I am on vacation.

we have younger kids, spend 9 or 10 days at FW and 5 days in parks. So that's 50 - 60%. We've found if we alternate park days, we can push the kids and don't need the nap (or the youngest sleeps in the stroller) and we're not totally exhausted!We also have the dining plan so its a treat for all of us not to cook and eat out Our dogs stay home whilst we are at FW for now, maybe once the kiddos are older, it will be easier to bring my dogs.

Thanks for the heads up on the bathing thing. I've been trying to find some extra time in my day. I was going to shave my head to eliminate fixing my hair every day, but DH says it's short enough now. Thanks!

DH and I do some things weird.......We live closeby, and visit the parks about 50 times a year. But when we camp we seldom (maybe 1%) go to the parks.

If we are bringing along a guest who has either never visited or who has limited visits, we will spend everyday in the parks. Weather of course has a lot to do with our plans. Last May it rained everyday all day but we braved the weather to give DS's GF plenty of park time. Contrast that to Christmas 2008 when we did not go to a park at all during the week we were there. Instead we did horseback riding, the Segway tour, rented watercraft, Petty driving experience, etc.
