for family style/buffet because that's the phase we're in now. The kids are of the age where they want to be in the parks as much as possible and the only break from CS we seem to get is in these types of restaurants.

My wife and I had a dinner alone a couple of weeks ago where we were planning our upcoming trip and we talked about four or five years down the road we'll go to different types of restaurants. In the future we'll switch to more regular TS with a signature thrown in here and there.

There really wasn't an option for us. Like a couple of previous posters, we are a mix of 1, 2 & 3 - with a bit of CS thrown in!

We rarely eat at character or buffet meals, except we occasionally have 1900 Park Fare or Crystal Palace breakfast. We eat mostly at signature restaurants for dinner, but like '50's PT, SciFi, Brown Derby, WCC, Kona and GF Cafe mixed in, or for lunch. And Earl of Sandwich is a favorite lunch spot.

We loved our V&A dinner, but we have a blast at Hoop-Dee-Doo!:goodvibes

I kinda like a mix except the signature dining. I do enjoy sitting down and being served and taking a break from the hot summer sun.:cool2:

It depends but we like to eat at places nothing like we have at home. So we like Kona, Tepan Edo, Afternoon Tea, Boma, etc. I can get italian, chinese and german any day of the week. we like to have one TS a day just break the day and give us downtime.

I wish I had a decent German place nearby. I have to drive 45 minutes to eat mediocre German food and I love it. Now teppan-yaki places are a dime a dozen around here. There are probably five or six wihin ten miles.

I absolutely agree with your philosophy. It appears that I just have a different choice of restaurants at home and, therefore, choose different oes on vacation. Biergarten is one of my favorites at Disney.

Basically everything but the extremes at either end are fine by us.

We like fine but not gourmet food and enjoy a relaxed meal. V&A is a bit too fancy for us, the signature restaurants are just about perfect, and there are many 1TS restaurants we enjoy as well. We tend to avoid buffets in the real world, but will do some at Disney for the characters.

I like my meals to be relaxing and on vacation I like my food brought to me, so counter service has no appeal. I don't want to be juggling trays and searching for an empty table at meal time! Our last trip was 11 nights on the deluxe plan, and we only had two counter service meals in the parks.

Since we travel with kids, right now it's 1TS and character meals, although we are throwing in one signature this year to celebrate our anniversary.

If it were an adults only trip, I would do the deluxe plan and do 2TS.

I didn't vote. I actually like a combination of all of the things. I might have 2 character/buffet (more last time) 2 nicer restaurants, 1 really nice, and then a variety of counter service.

2TS fine dining but not stuffy fits us quite well but we also enjoy enjoy many 1TS restaurants as well.

I guess we are a mix of 2 & 3. We enjoy signature dining, but also like some of the 1 credit locations (Le Cellier, Coral Reef, etc). We really only eat buffets for breakfast. We grab a few counter services meals here and there, but we are not big fans of those.
