Just wondering if others think the lakeview is worth the extra walk at pop. Curious if other's prefer a closer location to Classic Hall over the view of the lake.

we prefer the lake view at Pop - along with a top floor in the 50s building - it's much quieter back there and the walk isn't that long

I also liked the lake view. We stayed in the 70s building and it was quiet and not a very long walk to the bus, pool, and food court.

Non of the locations at Pop are a long walk from the food court/bus stops--5 minutes at most. I think that you'll be safe staying w/ a lakeview.

This was just outside of our room..

I think I was in room 4060? It was a room at the end of the hall very private and quiet.

the lake view are standard.

the pool views (or anything close to the food court - even parking lot) are preferred.

that wins for me - lake view for standard price!

Thanks for the picture. Lakeside does look like it'd be lovely. Looks so far like more people are willing to walk a little more for lake side.

You are welcome..that was just around the corner from our door..to the front was all green area with exotic birds and a bunny..:goodvibes

It was a pretty location and I didn't find the walk bad at all..

We are going in Nov. we have requested the lake view. A little more walking can help burn the calories from the food and Mickey Mouse ice cream. MMMM ice cream.

Hmmm...Now, non lake view is ahead but those who prefer other locations are a little quieter. Is it that they prefer the closer location?:confused3

lakeview

i actually prefer the "abandoned building" view peaceful - no activity across the lake - dark, quiet, surreal

I'm voting non lake view because you can't sit outside and enjoy it from your room. So the view isn't that big of a deal. If there was a balcony, I'd vote differently.

Here’s my theory: If you are staying at a value you are doing so to 1) save money or 2) the room is only a place to sleep.
If you are trying to save money, why pay out more?
If it is only a place to sleep—what difference does the view make?

The other thing is, you have no balcony. How are you really going to enjoy that view?

We just got back from POP on the 9th and were in the 50's building on the end at the lake. Room # 2437 Loved it. Quiet, rarely saw another person except for the people we were travelling with and we did go out on the walkway a bit, (our kids were out there a lot) I would definitely stay there again. Even after long days at the parks we really didn't notice the walk to our rooms.

We have had the lake view and really enjoyed it. We are not ones to care about the walk, so not an issue for us. Now with little ones who would fall asleep, then I would get a closer room.

Honestly, I don't think the lake is that pretty. I thought that at times it looked unkept around the edges. Especially the other side. Last year was worse than this year. I did take some nice shots of it, but I wouldn't ever consider it pretty scenery. I personally love pool side. And we were first floor pool side inteh 60's. Never heard outside noise.

Hi
I'd rather have a shorter walk to the busses and food court. We're not in the room enought to sit and look at the lake.

On one of our 2 stays at POP we had a 'lakeview'. We liked that it was quiet and it made for a nice walk. The extra distance is minimal. However I think that the view or lack there of is irrelevant at value and moderate resorts. Because there are walkways right outside your window, the window is usually kept covered by at least the sheer drapes. I, for one, don't want people walking by looking into my room.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

No lake view for us! We want to be as close to the refillable mugs and bus stop as possible! :thumbsup2 I love the 70's section best. Super close to the buses, close to the food and drinks, close to the pool, close to everything! :goodvibes
