I'd say usually it's not ok. I agree with, "what's the big deal about riding in two groups, or someone who ran for FPs/cokes/restroom/whatever sitting out this ride and catching it next time?"

I am a mom and many of us are in this discussion. And I know we have all been in a 30+ minute line when one of the kids start "dancing". It's happened to us and it's happened to other people in our line. When those things happen I have no problem letting them out and letting them back.
