I'm thinking about planning a Christmas trip for next year, but since we have two homes, the initial ressie will need to be split. For argument's sake, let's say that wailisting for changing it around doesn't come through:

Which would you choose:

Christmas at BCV followed by NYE at SSR
or Christmas at SSR with NYE at BCV

and please share your thoughts:)

In all honesty I would take more days at BCV over SSR given the choice but is just MHO.

me too, but i'll only have 150 total to work with at BCV, so we'll have to move at some point.

I should add that the dates we're working with would be between 12/21/07-1/1/08
i have to adhere to the school schedule

I like DTD area for New Year's and the late night parties (the parks aren't much fun on NYE). BCV is in a great location for Christmas. World Showcase is a great place to be for the holiday itself (lots of shows, each country has unique displays), and MGM has lots of shows that handle the crowds really well. If you have to split your stay, save SSR for the party night.

I agree with Demosthenes...BCV for me would work better for Christmas, and being near DTD would work well for NYE.

Also, my understanding is that NYE books up faster than any other single night for DVC. So going to SSR for that would give you even higher probability to get the reservation.

Some Diser's have said that Epcot is pretty cool on NYE with the countries all celebrating their "midnights", would this be better since we'll have DD (who will be 7 at the time) with us?
thanks for all the input so far keep it coming

This is interesting, I didn't know that about the Epcot contries.

Good luck as you make your decision. BCV only appeals to me in the summer months.

this is still really close..please keep voting...and sharing...

why do you have to split your stay? What I would do is plan to stay at BC one year, and bank/borrow pts to do that. Then, the following year bank/borrow the SSR portion to finance your extended stay there. At least that's what we do so that we don't have to move.

I voted SSR or Christmas and BCV for NYE, but that's because I really like doing Epcot for NYE. Such a nice easy walk "home" if you stay there for that!

DH likes looonng vacations and we'd be using 3 yrs worth of our small BCV contract as it is just for 1/2 of the stay.
I'll have to wait until December for this next trip, so it'd better be a good one.

thanks for the input

I would do Christmas at BCV with NYE at SSR. Basically because I would rather be at or near PI & DTD for NYE. I'm not sure why though. Hopefully you will be able to switch at the 7 month mark though.

This year we are VWL for the 19 - 25 and @ SSR the 26 - 29. I did this because the kids were wanting to try SSR & I was staying at VWL for Christmas. I could have booked the whole thing @ VWL. Now that it is to late they said they would rather stay the whole time at VWL! UGH!

Good luck & have fun!

Since there is a child involved................

I would do SSR for Christmas and BCV for NYE.

DTD isn't kid friendly on NYE, at least that's my opinion.

I'm shocked at the poll results!!!!! :confused3 When I read the question I immediately felt "This is an easy one." Boy was I wrong.

I would choose Christmas at BCV and then New Years at SSR. My reasoning is that BCV has a nice lobby decorated at Christmas and then I'd prefer to be close to DTD for New Years Eve. Seems I'm in the minority on this, though.

Either way, have a great trip.

Thanks so much for everyone's input thus far.
Please keep voting and sharing your opinions.
:cool1:

Our Dec trip we rather stay at one resort BWV.

this is as bad as the 2000 presidential election...:rotfl:
