Apparently, I live in the "Far" Mountain West in a state so great we had two categories to choose from: Washington!

Extreme northern Illinois. Actually, only about 10 minutes from KaseyC. Hello from Antioch, Kasey!!

Thanks for the poll! Looks like your guesses were correct. I just had to add, DH is from Florida, and I am from Louisiana. We lived in Florida and Virginia prior to moving here. I guess we "get around" as they say

Hi Y'all!!

Another Texan checking in!

Originally from Michigan by way of Chicago but I'd rather be country than cold so now Im a Texan! :sunny:

Well, I'm FROM Jersey, but we were living in NC when we purchased, so I went with that. I don't know if that makes me naughty, or just the DVCer formerly known as naughty. :confused3

I would have voted but I guess Kansas doesn't count.
My apologies again, to ceejay and other Kansans. My Great Grandfather was a Kansan (but not a DVC owner ;)), and I was intending to readjust the regional classifications, but hit enter too soon, leaving your great state out. Perhaps a better division of the middle would have been Great Lakes states (IL, IN, MI, OH, WI), then the prairie states (IA,KS, MN, MO, ND, NE, SD), but then again MN really should be in the the same grouping as WI at least, and does border Lake Superior and all... tough choices, even for a Geography major (like myself). Then a slip of the finger and it was done. Heck, I probably should have lumped the Mountain West in with the Southwest, or maybe sent ID and NV to the Far West (since DVC is not authorized to sell in either) so that any state with portions in the Pacific time zone would be together too.

Then again, I wonder how many Kansan DVC owners there are (or Nebraskan for that matter). We've got one ringing in so far...

But, it looks like the concentration in the Northeast is pretty heavy. New England is over-represented for its population (kinda like in the Senate), and despite the upper Midwest being much more sparsely populated than the central Midwest, it also is strongly represented. I expect that even tho Florida is #4 in DVC member population, the locals might be less obsessive planners than those of us further away (since a trip to WDW is a local jaunt, less need to plan to the Nth detail), and thus not as heavily represented on this board.
It is interesting how this very unscientific poll is coming out tho.

I think anyone who's been to WDW a few times could have predicted the most heavily represented regions. Unfortunately, for me, I feel a little uncomfortable in that culture.

BTW: TN. (Have also lived in FL, IL, MN, WA)

I'm not sure how to respond.

I was born in Chicago but grew up in Florida and now live in AL. We were in Kansas we bought the first time but Texas when we added on.

Let me know what block to check... :confused3

Kristen :earsgirl:

Chose "Mid Atlantic" but we live futher north than most New Englanders.

Just checked in and saw the high percentage in the NNE. (Naughty North East)

I responded with where we live now....but we lived in PA when we joined DVC. So I guess we're naughty turned nice? LOL
