I would have voted but I guess Kansas doesn't count.
Another Kansan. Would love to check a box, but there isn't one for us.

pumpkinboy - Thanks for your reply, there was no offense taken. As posted I knew there were a few of us from Kansas, as it is always nice to see a fellow Kansan's post.

Nobody "naughty" here, we're all "Minnesota nice", don't you know. (Come on over to the Lutheran church for the potluck, we'll bring a hotdish, ya, sure, you betcha!) ;) :sunny: :wave2: :goodvibes :flower:

Just wondering (respectfully), what this means

I've lived in many different areas of the US. Each has its distinct "culture." I'm from S Fla. I felt like I fit best in MN, which surprised me because it was so different from Chicago. The WA "culture" was very similar to MN. I liked N Fla (Gainesville) a lot. I now live in TN. It's OK.

I feel quite uncomfortable around the NJ, E Pa, NY, MA "culture." Maybe I wouldn't if I lived there for a while. But I doubt it.

I hope no one misunderstands. Individuals are not cultures. I found great friends everywhere I lived. But some people wear their home town culture like a strong perfume.

I live in Virginia, so I voted Southeast. However, it's my understanding that Northern Virginia is part of the Mid-Atlantic... :)

New Yorker Here. But we're Upstate and usually consider ourselves more Northeast than Mid-Atlantic! Oh, well, I guess we fall into the naughty category!

Well, thanks for the explanation OneMoreTry. I guess everyone has their opinions, but they sound a tad stereotyped to me (and this may be just me). We're a great bunch of folks up here in the NJ/PA/NY area. We've got a lot of heart and soul. I just found your original statement about "our culture" as sort of weird. I just don't see it as we're that intimidating as a population as your statement makes us sound ? We're just normal folks.....noone you should shy away from. Just sorry to hear that you feel "uncomfortable" around us ? I'll never figure that one out. But I appreciate & respect your honesty. :)

One more Texan checking in! I'd like to know howmany of the 27 South Central folks are from Texas?

And we're all so different! We've got big city folk, country bumpkins (that's me), suburbinites, those that drop the r's when they talk, those that add r's when they talk, and then there's the whole issue on how to pronounce the vowels! I'm curious which group of people make you uncomfortable. We really aren't scary, well most of us anyways! :wave2:
