Mine does not, currently, but I think in 2 years when our current boss retires the person slotted to takeover will do it. I'd LOVE it. I would probably work 8:30-5 with a half hour lunch 4 days a week and then just 3 hours the 5th day....and even better if I could do those 3 hours from home!

We have flex-time. Standard hours are 8:30 - 5:00, but you can adjust your start time up to 2 hours (start as early as 7 or as late as 10:30). Of course, you still have to work a full day no matter when you start and you have to stick to your approved schedule. We also have a work-from-home policy that's up to your manager's discretion to approve.

I'm salaried and have lots of flexibility including the flexibility to work a lot of extra hours! :rotfl:

As long as we are here for the middle of the day when boss is here we can bsically come and go as we please. As long as we hit 40 hours we are good. Some here work 4 10's...you just have to let the boss know which day you will be gone. They also allow you to work on the weekends if you want. For example next week I will be going to DL on Thurs and Friday so I am working on Sat and Sun to make up for it so that I do not have to take vacation time. Right now my normal schedule is from about 6:30 to 3:30.

At my last job we were only allowed to flex by 15 minutes or 30 minutes and only 10 times a year.

Amen to that!! :worried: My flex time is either come in early and work late or come in at 8:00 and work even later.

I am salaried so I have to be here 5 days/week and work as long as it takes to get the job done.

If I need to leave to run an errand or go to the dr or cut out an hour early I don't have to make that time up. There are quite a few people that will 'work from home' a couple of times a month. How much work they get done then is questionable.

Yes - its one of the good things around here. I am able to work my 7:30 - 4 shift, but people can start as early as 6 AM and as late as they want as long as they still put in their 8 hours

My job has flex time, but they call it offset. Like if you have a doctor appointment on Monday and you need to leave 2 hours early, you can make up those 2 hours on Friday so you don't have to use your vacation time. As long as your supervisor approves your schedule you can work just about any hours you want. Normal hours are M-Th 7:30-5 and Friday 7:30-11:30. But I know some people who work an earlier schedule or come in a little later for whatever reasons. It is a nice idea so you aren't using your vacation time for things that obviously aren't a vacation.

My company offers flex it is either 4 10 hour days with one day off or 4 9 hour days with a half day..I do the latter

Hourly and salary have this option where I work - if approved by their management.

I work 9 hours per day (or more - I'm salaried) and have every other Monday off. Some in our office work 4 10 hour days per week with Fridays off. Some work 9 hours per day with Friday afternoons off. Some just work a regular 8 hour day/40 hour week.

My dh's company (huge dot com that everyone here probably uses almost daily) has the policy that as long as you are around when they need you (reachable by computer, cell, and at necessary meetings which you can also attend by phone for the most part) and get your job done they don't care how many hours you do. So Dh works from home 2 days a week and 3 days a week is in the office from 11am-3:30pm... and on that schedule was able to win employee of the year. :rotfl: They do have crazy harsh reviews (bottom 10% are asked to leave) and super high expectations of their employees and alot of people really don't make it in that environment. But its been wonderful for our family. At the Christmas party last year the the people in dh's group were saying this was the first company they worked for where they felt like they were treated like adults.

We don't. We are there when our clients need us. Our employees to stay on their assigned schedule to provide that service.

One of our key decisions when we set up my (architectural) firm was flex time. We allow it. Everybody's got their own individual routine - some are morning people and some are NOT. For everybody's sanity the non-morning people don't grace us with their presence until they're tolerable to be around, and the

I handle all the firm's IT stuff, so I prefer to be in the office by 7:00 or so. Early risers are here by 7:45 or 8:00 (we have a couple more of them) - most of our people get in somewhere between 8:30 and 9:30, so that gives me at least an hour of 'quiet time' to get my systems maintenance tasks done before the rest of the gang rolls in. Most days are quiet (I'm running a standard LAN so there aren't alot of kinks) but I like to leave 8:30(+/-) to 10:00 time free of meetings to handle anything that may come up. We're in the center of downtown, within walking distance of at least two dozen restaurants. I like to eat around 11:00 or so (earlier than most), so I personally take short lunches (my average lunch time is 30 minutes, even less if I bring something from home). I work until 4:00 on most days. Most of our other people are here until 5:30 or 6:00. My average workday is 9.25 hours per day (as it has been for years) - most of our people are averaging 8.5 to 9.0 hours per day. When we have major project deadlines we'll bump up to 10 to 12 hours a day as we need to to get the work done.

KAMommy works a few blocks away so we're usually driving together. We have a 45 minute commute back home and it's another 45 minutes to pick up both kids. We're usually home by 6:00pm.

I have remote access in to our server so I can do 95% of my tasks from home (or wherever I happen to be), if need be. On days when I have a very pressing deadline or I'm really behind on something, I do work from home (with nobody else in the house). At home I can devote my attention to the task at hand without being interrupted every 20-30 minutes.

I work a 37.5 hrs work week and I work 7am-3pm with a half hour lunch. It's perfect for me. Our company doesn't necessarily have flex-time, but my department does. I actually work the late hours. There are some that come in around 5 - 5:30am and work to 1-2pm depending on how long they take for lunch. I get up at 5am to get here by 7, I couldn't do much earlier than that on a daily basis. My hours were stated when I came in for the interview. Basically I said if you can't work with these hours then we can end the interview right now. As you can see things worked out! I love my hours, which in turn helps me love my job!

We have scheduled and flex days. There are 3 in our department that have to cover the hours of 9am - 10pm. We all prefer to not work a full week or more of nights so we have a schedule that includes a variation of early, late, and flex days each week. If you are on late, you can start when you like as long as it is until at least 10pm. If you are on early, you can start as early as you like up to 9am start time. If you are on flex, you can pick your schedule for the day.

We made this schedule ourselves and so far, we all really like it.

I work for a major insurance company and we have flex time. "Core hours" are 8:00-5:00. Each department is expected to have sufficient staff during those hours. The flex start time is between 7:00 and 9:00. More people tend to come in earlier than 8:00 so sometimes there has to be a rotation for people staying until 5:00.

At my job I work 37 hours a week in flex-time. I can start between 6am and 930am and go home between 2pm and 8pm. During summer this is extended to 530 to 11am and 130pm to 930pm.
We can also save time and take full days off or extend our vacation time using that time. I usually extend my vacation time of 31 days per year to 35 (7 weeks).
