Just for fun - inspired by @Rgrif3:

What is the make-up of your DVC portfolio? If you have both direct and resale points, please choose one of the MIX options.
  • DIRECT Only: Only have points purchased directly from Disney.
  • BLUE Card Resale Points Only Purchased prior to March 21, 2011 - Perks are the same as points purchased direct. AKA Grandfathered.
  • BLUE Card Resale Points Only Purchased on or after March 21, 2011 but before April 14, 2016 - Perks are the same as Direct EXCEPT these points may not be used to reserve any of the options in the Disney Concierge or Adventures By Disney Collections
  • WHITE Card Resale Points Only Purchased on or after April 14, 2016 - No Membership Extras.
  • BLUE Card MIX - Have some combination of direct and resale points, and qualify for a Blue Card.
  • WHITE Card MIX - Have some combination of direct and resale points, but don't qualify for a Blue Card.

Wish I had bought in before all the resale restrictions, but own both direct and resale.

I have 3 direct contracts and 2 resale contracts. I guess my one membership is a white card one since it is 1 resale contract only on that membership, but I have the blue card from my other membership.

We have a total of four contracts now.
1st was Direct AKV for 160 points
2nd was Direct 60 point AKV add on
3rd was 175 point SSR Resale
4th was 175 point SSR Resale

Really pretty happy that we have those direct points as I fell like we have some security in case DVC really does some funky things and changes resale rules (I don't know if hey could or if it is likely that they would, but still).

Main contract was resale and then a 25 pt direct add-on for the blue card.
Same here - first contract was with the 25pt direct add on. All of our resale points can be used at all DVC resorts (i.e. bought after 2016 before 2019). Then we went ant bought Riviera... (direct)

Currently we have none at all but next spring we will be all direct. I just got word that my winter job is going from 10 hours a week to about 35 which is awesome. I'm hoping the extra money will help me convince DH to bump our purchase up to an even 200 from our planned 175.

I'm not against buying resale but we are buying RIV and so far the prices resale contracts are going for isn't worth the loss of blue card benefits, resale restrictions, time and aggravation. Of course things may change between now and then.

All pre-sale purchased just over a year ago. I want more points eventually, but I really can't even fathom ever buying direct.

We already had the blue card benefits we cared about, and weighed adding on at BLT resale or RIV direct. The purchase price difference was about $5000 when assuming we could get BLT for $130pp, and the home resort advantage in the EP/HS area + immediate use of points was well worth it to us. We spent NYE at RIV last year which was spectacular. (we bought before opening, had points in our account in a day or so, and booked our NYE reservation before the 7mo window opened, and while we were at WDW. Even though we were already members, we also bugged them for FPs and they threw in another backpack. 🤣

We have 1 direct contract and 2 resale. Direct is at SSR and resale- BWV and SSR

I have a mix of direct and resale Poly contracts and a direct at Riviera. Working on closing another contract at Bay Lake Tower being purchased via the resale market.

How about adding an option for a mix that sadly does not give you a blue card. Unless of course I print it on blue paper.
Okay, I confess I'm SUPER curious. Why do you have direct points but not enough for a blue card?

I'm a bit of a complicated situation. My parents are direct owners since 2000. This year, they added me to their deed so I can receive blue card benefits. Additionally, I bought 2 resale contracts. So, I don't actually have access to my parents points, but I am technically an owner on their deed, plus my own resale contracts.

We bought resale, added on direct (50 point minimum at the time), then added on another resale.

Sadly, no option for us lurkers who want to buy in but haven't yet gotten it together enough to do so. :)

Just kidding - it is interesting to see the responses, though!
