Ok this ones gonna be a odd one:
I am going to semi valley CA where my friend knows a sherrifs deputy. He has promised me he can get me a police pacth from there. His boss has already appoved giving me one (the current one, mind you). I am collecter of patches and have many at home. My question is am I going to get in trouble at the airport for it? I mean with all the terrisom stuff I would be worried about getting in trouble for having it (Them possibley thinking I have it to immposnate a cop). Will I be ok with it or no? this probley seems stupid to you guys but I cant take chances with my carrer (cop to be).

Police patches aren't prohibited. You can carry a suitcase full of FBI uniforms, makes no difference. As long as you're not wearing it or "flashing" it in some odd way, you'll be just fine. No worries.

My Dh is a police officer and he said you shouldn't worry. It is common for other police officers to trade patches. A patch is not a big deal, a badge is another story.

Figured I was probally over worrying. I cant wait untill I graduate and am a cop (got two semesters). It will make trading so much eaiser!

If you are worried about it, why not mail it back home for yourself. I can't see why they would say anyhting especially since its not showing or you aren't wearing it.

Thats what I was thinking of doing. I was also picking up matches (which I know can be in my carryon) and was thinking of shipping them home too. The problem will be finding a post office near the place were staying.
