pokemon appriciation thread

I support this thread and everything it's about! Haha. Does anybody else appreciate the earlier generations of Pokemon a little more than this new Pokemon White/Black stuff??

I made the mistake of going from FireRed straight to Black.

My brother got Pokemon White two weeks ago and he's already beaten the Elite Four and caught some legendaries. Meanwhile I can't get past Castelia City Gym because my dumb downloaded Vulpix won't level up enough.

Haha, I beat White, and I've already gone back to Diamond. I liked White, but I prefer playing the older games a lot better.

Hahaha, that really sucks. I really got burned out on the new stuff around diamond and pearl. But after ruby, saphire, and emerald I kinda new it was gonna go downhill :thumbsup2

Yeah, dont get me wrong... I love pokemon and all it's generations and I too played White and Black and beat them to an extent like all the others but i just tend to prefer the older generations and the more simple pokemon. I mean... A pony with a mane on fire versus floating cogs? Just not as... Idk, maybe close to heart? opinions??

I've only ever played the first three generations (DS emulators crash my computer and I'm too cheap/lazy to by cartridges, lol), but I LOVE Pokemon.

Has anyone ever tried the Nuzlocke challenge? It's a different set of rules that WILL make you appreciate your Pokemon if you don't already. You can only catch the first Pokemon you see in an area, and if a Pokemon faints, it's dead and you have to box or release it. It makes the game a lot more tense and adds a lot to it!

As far as the anime goes, I've had a crush on James since I was nine and it still hasn't gone away. Ash drives me crazy, but I still love watching it for Team Rocket!

My brother has actually made it to the fifth gym leader doing the Nuzlocke challenge, but I think he gave up.
I personally do not have the patience or the ability to do it.

Huh, ive never heard of the Nuzlocke challenge. Sounds interesting. Where can I go to play it?

You can play it on your regular Pokemon games (I'm currently doing one with a plain old Emerald cartridge). Just remember you can only catch the first Pokemon you see on a route and release a Pokemon if it faints.

my fav game is ruby...........so many good memories............... check my youtube channel in my sig for my ruby commentating the series is titled the wiley Chronicles.

Ahhhhh there's just something so awesome about the originals. It's just so streamlined! No strange side stories or mini games (unless you play the slots)- you don't have time for all that, you just want to be a Pokemon Master! And nothing beats the original 150 (+ Mew). Because you actually CAN catch them all without playing until you're middle aged
