I've been a member since 2000, but never rec'd a statement of current points (i.e. what's available, what's been borrowed, what's been banked, etc.)

Does member service provide this?
Thanks,

They do not send out any statements. They reccomend to keep track of your points, bank, borrowed, etc. Then you can call MS and verify your totals with theirs. If their is a difference between your total and theirs, then they may send you a printout of your points if you request one, but ,I may warn you, it isn't very easy to follow.

I have requested and received a points activity statement. It is a little complicated to try to read through tho.

Talk about the understatement of the year.....

If you have more than one contract, they are absolutely undecipherable.

I recently found an extra 270 points in my account.

Two years ago I had to cancel a 400 point vacation in a Grand vill twice. While I was re-making the reservation for the third time, they told me I didn't have enough points. I told them that I just made and cancelled roughly the same vacation twice. They swore I didn't have enough points. We marked up and faxed my point usage sheets back and fourth all day long. I spent six hours on the phone with them and there were easily 10 faxes back and fourth. They kept telling me that I was over allocated points while I was making the first reservation.

We have been members since '92 and had two contracts since '93.

After all this, the final resolt was that regardless of wether I could see their logic or not, I was mis-alocated those points and that is it.

Man, did I feel burned.

This year I call to ask a question about for points for a quick AKL trip. I am under the impression that my current year's points are gone and I will get a new allotment in September. After she tells me the point requirements, I ask what my current point count is.

SHE SAYS THAT i HAVE 270 POINTS THAT MUST BE USED OR BANKED!!!!!!

I was right...

The bottom line is that the point usage sheet that they will send if requested, is less than useless.

Since I had all these "found" points, I booked AKL Concierge with 200 of them.

My situation isn't as complicated as Rich's, but that's was I was afraid of. Without an annual reconciliation, it's possible that errors (we are all humans) occur.

I'm sure cost is why this isn't done, so I guess I'll keep on using my DVC points manager (which I got through this forum), and hope for the best.

In this age of computors and internet there is no reason members couldn't have an on-line account to veiw not only their points but also dues and mortgage values or any other such info. Banks do it,credit card companies, hotel chains, record clubs, you name it,they have on-line account access. I don't believe the cost would even be that great and it would virtually maintain itself.

I have two other timeshares and every confirmation letter I receive from both includes points used and current years points available (remaining). I don't know why DVC can't do the same.
