Points per night??

I am new to the idea of DVC, we are considering renting points for our vacation in Oct. (oct 30-nov4 2005) according to the points board it is 8 pts/night at that time at OKW. Are there any other fees associated with booking this? Taxes?, cleaning/maintenace fees?, etc. It seems like the way to go, but I would like to draw on your knowledge in this area please if any of you could help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Nope, no hidden fees

Add up the points and find a member to rent to you for the price per point that suits you. Average is $10 per point but some members rent for a little less like $9pp if they have points that will expire soon or $12pp if they aren't in a big hurry to get them rented. But in the end, it's just however much $ per point ...no taxes or hidden fees. Just remember that this will be an agreement between you and the member...Disney will not get involved in disputes and cancellation policy's will be what you agree upon with the renter.

If you enter into an agreement to rent points from a member, whatever you agree to pay that individual for the points is all you will pay. There are no resort taxes or other fees paid at the resort itself.

Note that DVC resorts do have limited housekeeping. If you want daily housekeeping, you can pay $25 per day at the resort itself.

Oh, should also mention...if you rent points you will be subject to DVC housekeeping...we don't get daily housekeeping unless you want to pay extra per day for it. You will get Trash - n - towel service on day 4 of a 7 day stay (empty trash cans and give you fresh towels) If your stay is more than 8 nights you'll get a full cleaning on day 4 and T-n-T on day 8 and the cycle repeats every 4 days (full cleaning you'll get change of bed linens,beds made of course,vacuming,new towels,villa entirely cleaned, the works).

Thanks alot for your info, I am so glad that we joined these boards. We are definately looking at the OKW resort now. Maybe in a few years join the DVC and own our vacation as well. Thanks again!
