Points insurance

I traded into Disney Animal Kingdom using points from my Shell Vacation Club. They have since stopped using RCI and are now using II. Unfortunately, no one wants to insure my exchange in case of the dreaded hurricane. I will be there from 9/7/12 - 9/14/12, peak hurricane season. I just want to know if in case of a problem such as a closure of the hotel or the park or trip cancellation that some how I can still have my family vacation at a later date without incurring using more points for a room again. So far, I am hitting a dead end. I am not looking for money for my points, just some kind of protection that if the worse happens that I am not out of a reservation for a future stay . Looking for HELP. I am 20 days and counting til departure.

You should ask on the DVC board and see if some of our more savvy time share experts know an answer. But I wouldn't think that a trip cancellation would get your points back. It's probably a question better asked of your Shell company though, than Disney.
