Points in hold status question....

In March we purchased a resale at OKW with a Sept. UY and 150 points in hold status. We booked an August stay and paid the $95 fee. After a few weeks, realized we needed to change the date so we called and were able to change but had to pay the $95 fee again. Is this correct?

Yes.
The $95 fee is the exchange fee and has nothing to do with the holding status of the points.

It sounds like you had 150 Holding points and opted to use them outside of DVC in one of the collections.

When you exchange out to Disney Collection, DCL, or Concierge Collection, you pay the $95 fee. When you make any changes to these reservations, you pay the fee again.

Holding points can be used with 60 days prior to check in to any DVC resort with availability without any fees.

Were the points Holding Points or Reservation Points? Re reading your post, if you did not have a choice in paying the fee, then your points were Reservation points.

You caught it before I did!! I didnt catch the August booking which means the OP definitely had reservation points, not holding points.

Sorry, they are reservation points..so we're stuck at Port Orleans Riverside. Oh well, guess we'll just have to suck it up for 1 trip.

While I prefer DVC rooms, Riverside was the resort we usually booked before DVC. We still visit there most every trip, just for old times sake. Perhaps you can make some special memories there to celebrate your graduation to DVC!

The resale we bought was our second contract so we are already spoiled. . Before we bought into DVC we always stayed at PO so will do it agin for old times sake!

for someone who always stayed at PO before DVC you seem very upset about staying there again. we love it there and when we can we do a split stay at PO or CSR before BWV. sorry your stuck at PO

No, not at all upset about PO....just used to a 1 bedroom with room for 5, a washer /dryer and a full-size fridge!
