Points for waitlist 30 days out or less?

Where does the room come from when your waitlist comes through inside 30 days from arrival?
Breakage?
DVD points?
Canceled?
All of the above?

I'd like to know this answer too. I'm within a 30 days wait list right now. Still crossing my fingers but I have my back up reservation if wait list doesn't come through.

Good question. I was always under the assumption that it was from cancellations. Our waitlist just came through yesterday. Good luck to you on your waitlist and thanks to whoever out there cancelled their 1 bedroom villa at VWL the last weekend of October!!

Cancellations (including DVD). Breakage in emergency situations. Just my guess though.

Good luck, I just had one come through at exactly seven days (actually came through at one resort at 9 days and re-waitlisted). I know the first waitlist was only missing one day to complete the ressie. The second there was no availability at AKV. I suspect that maybe during that last week and 7 day mark they might review some waitlists and CRO just to see if they can pull them off. But that is pure speculation on my part.

I'm sure there is an official reason why points become available 30 or less days out...could it be that maybe non-dvc people cancel late? I didn't think those reservations were available to dvc members. I called to get a 1 bedroom BWV for 4 days over a weekend about 4 weeks ago and was told no, I already had a studio so it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted to switch. I kept calling everyday to check and on the day before I arrived MS told me they were calling over to the resort to "check on something". They had a one bedroom for me. You can't count on this kind of luck but I did it last January too...when you are in that 7 days before arrival keep calling everyday to check. (I realize Jan. & Sept. are less popular times of the year)
