Points for short stays?

Hi,

I take frequent trips to WDW and often stay overnight for a night or two. I have some connections with the Swan/Dolphin and can get rooms for $99.00/night.

Is it better to stay at those hotels or similarly priced ones or should I use my DVC points, since I am already paying for them?

If you're not interested in renting your points....

I'd say it depends on if you frequently find yourself with left over points at the end of your use year. If you always have leftovers why not use them instead of paying cash?


If you are trying to squeeze every dollar out of your "investment" ...

I'd say stay at the Swan/Dolphin and make a buck on your points.


Personally I'd stay at the Swan/Dolphin for the real short trips AND make a couple longer ones on points at a DVC resort!

Especially if you were to stay on a weekend!
