Can someone please point me to a place that lists points needed for non-WDW (or Hilton Head or Vero Beach) properties? Not a DVC member yet, and want to see what other places "cost" in order to help me determine how many points we will need but I can't seem to lay hands on this information.

While I most certainly will be spending most of them at WDW, my family will want to do a Disney Cruise or maybe someday go to one of the other fabulous places shown on the DVC dvd (we just got yesterday!). I want to be sure that by banking and borrowing we would have enough points to do something like that in the future.

Thanks!

I don't believe you can find that information on-line anywhere. It is included in the vacation planning guide sent after joining DVC.

You can find the point charts for VB and HHI on the link at the top of the Forum - same place as the point charts for the WDW DVC resorts.

Agree with CMedley - don't know of anywhere on line that non-members can view the point charts for any of the non-DVC resorts.

FWIW, DVC will not return the best value if you frequently use it to stay anywhere besides a DVC resort. If you're planning to use yor DVC points to stay at the non-DVC WDW resorts on more than a very infrequent basis, DVC is not a good choice for you.

Best wishes -

For Hilton Head or Vero Beach, just use the DVC Point Charts link at the top of the page.

For the other WDW resorts, maybe if you indicate which resort and when, someone will look it up for you. As an example, for Value Season (Jan 1-Feb 15, Jul 5-Oct 4, Nov 26-Dec 19) here are some costs:

Grand Floridian Garden View Sun-Thu 40 points per night, Fri-Sat 72 points per night.
Polynesian Garden View Sun-Thu 36 points per night, Fri-Sat 65 points per night.
Yacht Club Standard View Sun-Thu 35 points per night, Fri-Sat 63 points per night.
Contemporary Garden Standard View Sun-Thu 29 points per night, Fri-Sat 52 points per night.
Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool View Sun-Thu 29 points per night, Fri-Sat 52 points per night.
All moderate resorts Standard View Sun-Thu 16 points per night, Fri-Sat 29 points per night.

It goes up from there according to season and room view.

Thank you. Yes, we would only use non-DVC resorts very infrequently because I realize it's not the best use of points, but still would like to know how many points a DCL cruise in category 6 in January, for example, would be. Or an exchange in Maui? If anyone is willing to look it up for me that would be great, otherwise I suppose I can ask the Disney people.

All exchanges via II (aka World Passport Collection) cost the same number of points, depending on the size unit and season. IIRC, all exchanges to Hawaii are high season. That means a 1 bedroom would be 160 points and a 2 bedroom would be 270 points.

The points for a cruise also depends on the length (3, 4 or 7 days) and the itinerary if it's a 7 day cruise.

January is Value season. A Cat 6 cabin for a 3 day cruise is 128 each for the first two people in the cabin and for additional persons in the same cabin, it depends on the age. Ages 13+ is 46, ages 6-12 is 39, ages 3-5 is 27 and ages 2 and under is 18.

For a 4 night in January, a Cat 6 cabin would be 143/61/54/51 & 18 respectively.

For the 7 night Eastern, a Cat 6 cabin would be 201/120/92/89 & 26.

For the 7 night Western it's 213/135/107/104 & 26.

Value season is the least expensive time to cruise.

Best wishes -
