Pointe West in Vero????

Hi fellow DVCers! We were looking into possibly buying a vacation villa home or condo now that we are retired and saw an ad for Pointe West in Vero Beach. Does anyone know anything about it and its proposed town center? Would appreciate any opinions about the area (especially from those who own at VB. Thanks much.

I don't know much pro or con but I would caution to never buy anything in Florida site unseen. Things change quickly in that area. I found this web site Pointe West and if that's the development you are thinking about, the location is inland (which can mean it gets much warmer in the summer months) going out toward I-95. This is the area that is on the fringe of development. There is the mall and the outlet center but very little residential building has been done out this way. Of course, this could just be the beginning of the boom headed out there. Celebration, Reunion, etc. in Orlando are being built on former ranchland, too.

Thank you PamOKW. We will probably make a side trip to the Vero Beach and Port St. Lucie areas when we come down to WDW this Spring. We are also thinking about the Gulf Coast areas of Sarasota, Ft. Myers and St. Pete, in addition to the Clermont, Leesburg and Ocala developments in central FL. Just beginning our search into condo or active retirement properties, and we appreciate your input. Because we aren't in a hurry, we'll visit a different area on each WDW trip we make in the future. Wish us luck!
