I have a quick question on how point transfers work these days. I understand there have been some recent changes and I want to understand exactly how this works so we can weight all of our options accordingly.
Basically, we plan to travel with two other members in September. We were all originally just going to make our own reservations but decided it might make more sense to just get a 2BR and split the points. We thought about each paying for 1/3 of the days on (3) separate reservations and then linking them, but I don't know if you can link separate reservations like that? So, we thought maybe we could transfer the points into one of our accounts and make the single larger reservation. That's where everything *really* got complicated. We have (3) parties involved, A, B, and C. A&B have similar use years, so that should be easy I think? C has a separate use year and only has access to next years points via borrowing. Can they borrow points and then transfer them? Or is it easier for them to make the reservation and transfer the points into their account instead -- since I know they can borrow for their portion of it?
Also, when those points are transferred, do they take on the point banking/expiration schedule of the account they are transferred to, or do they retain those details from where they were transferred from?
Any thoughts on what the best way to do this is?
Thanks in advance!
