point transfer question -- how to do the transaction?

I'm still relatively new to DVC. I may be looking to pursue a point transfer to complete a reservation. How do people usually complete this transation? I see listings on the board, but how do you pay? How do try to make sure that the person selling the points is trustworthy?

No matter what it is a lot about trust. I have always done as buyer 50% by paypal before transfer and 50% as soon as the transfer is confirmed.

IF MS follows the protical, both parties have to approve the transfer.

I have done a few transfers over the years. It is a fairly simple process but as mentioned it involves trust on the part of both partys. When I have transfered points to another member I just have to call member service, give them the other persons name & member number and the number of points I am transfering. The other party can then call to confirm the transfer. That's it! I usually take pay pal but I have taken cashiers checks. Just make note that each member is only allowed one transfger per use year.
