Point reservation question - and booked first trip!

I just booked a weekend trip in December to take in all the holiday parties and sites (woo hoo! ). I booked at my home resort - SSR and it will be my first trip home.

Should I decide that I would like to stay at another DVC resort do I just call member services and ask to change resorts if there is availability?
