Point-n-Shoot?....show your Magic!

Just bumping up this thread to say thanks for all the fantastic photos. I've just finished looking through them all and it's great to see what even the simplest cameras are capable of.

Wdw1976, I love your pics, particularly the fall landscape ones from last year. They just go to show that an eye for composition is as important as a good camera.

Havoc315, thanks for sharing your rx100 pics. This will be my next camera (will hopefully have it within a month) and I'm impressed by what it can do.

I'll have to see if I can figure out how to post pics to the Dis so I can share a few favourites of my own. My blog below has all point and shoot pics, with the 2012 entry on NZ having some of my favourites.

I love this pic, it is beautiful, and the monorail is one of my son's favorite things to ride at WDW lol!

I'm going to have a go at adding a sample of mine. It's my first time adding pics, so please bear with me. They're all taken in New Zealand.

Took these at Knoebel's Amusement Park in the Pennsylvania Mountains last Summer with my rather ordinary point and shoot camera:

Thank You! The Flower and Garden Show was amazing! Just wished I had had my new camera and lenses with me...but the Canon Powershot SX40 did great!

We bought our son a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 for Christmas and he finally got enough time to really play around with it. He took it on his field trip last month & I was pretty impressed with his shots. He did all of the post processing himself as well. He's a little bit of a photo geek (must take after me). Here are a few of my favorites...

These were all taken at the Carl Sandburg Home in Flat Rock, NC.

The coffee tastes so much better when you have a great location - dont you think? :)

More of "pretty darn good in bad lighting" than a great photo..but yesterday we happened to have a flyover of C-130's. Since I happened to have my HX30 on my belt strap pouch, I changed it to Auto, zoomed to the max, and got this (only slightly cropped). I was mostly impressed the shutter speed was fast enough to capture the propellers on this highly overcast day:
