If you wanted to book at RIV , then that is a hard no. Only points that are blue card eligible can be used at RIV or any future resort.

I heard that, but haven't read that. That seems really crappy to me. what am I missing?

Yes, I wasn't thinking about actually booking the room itself. You're right, @LPnerd couldn't combine resale points with direct points to book Riviera (unless the resale points were at RIV).

It's the newest WDW DVC resort, is very beautiful, and many people including myself like it. However, DVC is trying to encourage people to buy directly from them rather than on the resale market, so resale points bought after Jan. 19, 2019 can't be used to book at Riviera unless they are Riviera points. I think people are trying to answer your question about combining resale points with direct points.

Yes, as a StarWars fan, I think I will try to find 3 other diehards, and go as a foursome.
And, under that scenario, would spring for the higher room category.

Cost aside, sharing with a group of fans, all costumed up and in character, would greatly enhance the experience!
