Point and use year question

My mother in law purchased DVC this August at SSR. She was told that her use year would start in Dec 2006. She closed the end of September.

I just set up her online access and looked at her points. The web site is showing that she has points for use year 2005. Can this be?

It could just be a glitch in the system Have her call MS.

Now that the dislaimer is out of the way.

We recieved our previous years points when we bought in last year.This is something that can and does happen depending on what special was going on when she bought.

Check tomorrow as they have to be banked by a certian time for future use or they could be lost on Nov 30th.

I joined in Sept. and also have a Dec. use year. I received the $86/point at SS and already made my first reservation. I was told that I do not receive the 2005 points. So when booking my July 2007 res. I used all of my 2006 points (that won't come until Dec 1) and borrowed from my Dec 2007 points.

So, on the website, there are two areas I can look to see what my points activity is. One site has me using 2005 points (which I shouldn't have) and borrowing from my 2006 points. The other page (where my reservation is confirmed) has me useing my 2006 points, and borrowing from my 2007 points (as I believe it should be and was told over the phone when I made the res).

Anyway, all that to let you know that I think if you took the special deal on purchase points (either $91 or $86 per point) it negates the idea of getting 2005 points. The points page must not reflect this and therefore credits us for having 2005 points when we don't.

OH BUT THE JOY IF WE REALLY DO!!! But I don't think that is the case.

It can be....but call MS to make sure. A December UY means that you are technically in your 2005 UY so the points would be marked as so. When December rolls around you will be in your 2006 UY. Its like your a calender year behind. Those points can be used or banked.........
