We are going to DW in June and are staying at POFQ for the first time thanks to the codes that are out right now. My question is I have seen some people write that there is a water taxi shuttle between POFQ and POR. When I made my reservation I asked the CM about this since we will be travelling with a 6 and 1 yr old. She told me that there is no such thing and that the only shuttle is the afternoon and evening service to DD. Is this correct? I just thought it would be easier to move between the two resorts with the shuttle with our little one if they had it but will be OK walking it if we have to. I am hoping that someone who has stayed there recently could help answer my question about whether or not the shuttle exists between the two resorts.
Thanks for your help in advance:)

Kathy

Yes, the shuttle does exist. The CM was mistaken. It runs back and forth between the two resorts, pretty much all day long. Even if you do walk, though, it is not bad.

Thanks BrianD....I am really not worried about the walk for me or DH but after a full day of walking my boys may like taking the water taxi for something different. Glad to know it is there if we need it:)

We just returned from POFQ and yes, the boat goes back and forth from FQ to Riverside. It is a very nice ride and "captian" is great and very knowledgeable. You'll enjoy the ride.

The boat that goes to Downtown, does not run as frequently as the boat between the 2 resorts. Basically when the boat docks at one resort, it picks up those passengers and takes them to the other resort, back and forth most of the day.

The other thing we loved about FQ is that you are always the first to be picked up by the busses from the resort and the first to be dropped off on your way back from the parks.

FQ is very pretty, you'll love it.

You will like POFQ. We stayed there twice and my kids loved it especially the pool! In fact, a friend of mine stayed there on my recommendation and she liked it as well. It's a very tranquil setting.

We were lucky both times to be upgraded to a water view and our room overlooked the river to DD and was right next to the pool and a short walk to everything.

Try the boat to Downtown Disney at night. It's dark but a nice ride. I think you'll find the boat between the resorts convenient as well.

Also, I just heard there is a new carriage ride at POFQ. Sounds neat!

If I remember correctly, the boat starts running at 10am. You can go from FQ to Riverside and back or you can go to DD.

If you ride the boat to DD you must disembark - even if only to turn around and get back on the boat. However, if you ride between FQ and Riverside, and just want to make the round trip, you can keep your seat.

We had wonderful "Captains" on every trip. On one trip to DD the Captain gave both boys Mardi Gras coins. The ride to DD and back was great at night! On the way there, the Captain tells you little "tidbits" and points out things, and on the way back, the Captain tells you other tidbits and points out other things.

Boats were coming and going very frequently, so if you missed one headed the way you wanted to go, it was a very short wait until the next one arrived.

Enjoy your trip!

Glad to hear all the comments about POFQ - I just booked December 15-20 at POFQ. I had considered one of the All Stars, but since I'll be traveling solo and depending on WDW transportation, I thought POFQ might be more to convenient and relaxing. And the water shuttle sounded nice.

and here are some photos for you to enjoy:

And, yes. There were 2 different boats: one is the POR/POFQ taxi and the other is the DTD taxi.

Thanks everyone for the great info. We have never stayed at POFQ so we are getting pretty excited about it. Plus it will be my 1 year old's first trip.

Mijo....thanks for the great pictures. It is always nice to see different shots then what is provided in the planning video. When my older son gets out of school today I am going to show him the picture of the pool. I think he is going to love it.
