ok after lots of talking and debating between hubby and i we have decided to book POFQ for late nov. we will be traveling with almost 5 year old and 7 month old. (heres hoping for a code to -- lol)
anyway is there a certain building or location that is better? this resort does have elevators right? thanks -- im assuming when i book -- which im booking room only (hoping for a code!) i can just request a certain building or room? thanks a million!!!

I'm going in september and requesting bldg 4. Hopefully I'll get it. It seems to be close to everything although it was a former smoking bldg. If I can't get bldg 4 I want 7 or 5. I just don't want to be right next to the pool.

If you wish to be near the pool, request building 2 or 5. If you wish to be near the food court, request building 3 or 4. If you wish to be near the bus stop, request building 4. (But no building there is very far from the food court and bus stop.)

Each of the seven buildings at the French Quarter have three floors. (All buildings have elevators.) And the entire resort is small by Disney standards. There is really not much difference in terms of best location. When I stay there I always request building 2 or 5, with a river view (Note: request river view, NOT water view, if that's what you want.) Quiet location every time I've stayed there.

I usually stay at Port Orleans French Quarter, but have decided to try the Contemporary on my next visit just to see how much it has changed through the years. No doubt I'll return to the French Quarter on subsequent trips.

Enjoy.

 We've stayed in building 4 sicne 2001 and it has not been a smoking building. :ast time asked a manager because it kept popping up that it was a smoking building - it was another building, but cannot recall which one.

As for elevators - the buildings do have elevators, but in the middle of each building - it can be a hike from the elevator to the room, so you might want to request a room near the elevator. :) We always had a corner room in building 4 near the food court and it was so far from the elevator we just took the stairs, even with luggage!

Otherwise a perfect location :)
