POFQ - washing machines?

Where are the machines located?

And did I hear they're taking CC now, instead of cash?

We used them in February and they were still taking quarters. Don't know if they have updated since then, but I would like to know. You will need your room key to get into the building with the washers and dryers.

I know there was discussion on the POFQ FAQ thread that the machines now take only credit/debit cards - can't use KTTW, and I think it was said no gift cards or anything similar. IIRC, it's credit/debit cards or nothing. Hopefully someone will clarify/confirm.

Edit to add: The changeover did happen sometime later than February this year.

I couldn't find an answer on the POFQ thread. Are the detergents purchased with credit cards also or still coins?

The washers and dryers are definitely credit or debit card only. I used them a couple of times on our trip this spring. You need your KTTW card to open the door to the laundry room. Don't know about payment method for the detergent. I bring my own in a ziplock bag.

Can you bring some detergent w you in checked luggage? Last time I traveled, I bought some detergent pods from Target. There was only about 15 in the bag so it's wasn't too expensive and didn't take up hardly any room.

Soap powder is Ares 53g box enough to do two washes for $1 and 2 bounce sheets also $1, both in the same machine which you need to use a credit card same as the washers.
