I'm thinking of changing resorts for our upcoming trip. I finally get to the point where I know where we want to stay and then I read something new and then I'm in the same place I was in months ago. This upcoming trip is going to be a take it easy, relax trip. In the past we've always felt like we needed to do it all during that trip. We're looking forward to just hanging out at the hotel for the day if that's what we decide when we wake up that morning. We stayed at CBR last year and loved it because it was so relaxing to just lay in the hammock with DH while the kids played on the playground and in the sand. Well....didn't know CSR had this too. (no playground on the beach though, right?) That time was precious to all of us. Plus, the waterslide at CSR looks way better than the one at POFQ and my kids are all about that! :)
If you've been to both, what are your thoughts?
Of course, if there are no AP rates available for CSR, that might make my decision easier.

I am trying to decide the same thing! My children are older than yours( tween and a teen) so I am thinking of changing our ressies to CSR. If I had young children I think I would try POFQ or PORS( assuming you want a change from CBR) CSR sounds like a lot of walking and more adult although I'm sure their are alot of younger children as well. Will it be very hot when you are going? Good Luck. I will be watching to see what other posters have to say.:) :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We stayed at both in March. If you are looking for relaxing, I would definitely stay at CSR. The resort is gorgeous and a lot more quiet than POFQ. It has a very deluxe feel to it. The pool was a lot nicer too. The pool slide was fun for the kids and so was the playground. The only benefits I saw that POFQ had over CSR was the boat ride to DTD and the beinets. The CM's were great at both as was mousekeeping. We will go back to CSR soon because it was so relaxing. Good luck! Both are nice resorts.

I have been to both and prefer POFQ. CSR is nice, but way to big. Wasn't inpressed with the Pepper Market either. POFQ is really quiet, small and relaxing. Walking along the river early in the morning is nice. It is so quiet. They have a slow boat ride to DTD that's also relaxing to do. The pool and slide are not as big as CSR, but nice just the same. I think you even get to share pools with POR. Which ever resort you choose, have a great trip!

I have to agree with Johnnyr... I do not like the Pepper Market at all.... it is a glorified food court where they tack on a 15% gratuitity charge for basically nothing other than asking if you need more soda. I like POR much better... both the FQ & Riverside sections. I love the fact they have the boat to DTD, you also have different pools to choose from, different food courts & resturants. I have stayed at CSR 3 times, don't get me wrong, it is nice...but .... I wouldn't stay there if PO-FQ or PO-R was available.

CSR is a great resort as long as you know going in it is the total opposite of POFQ. CSR is a large resort with terrific transportation that is not SHARED with other resorts. The resort has beautiful landscaping and is themed in a Mexican/SW American atmosphere. CSR has the BEST pool of all the moderates. The main pool area has a volleyball court, playground, huge slide, bar and snack bar. The Pepper Market is a great food area. So many choices, it's not your traditional food court. You are seated by a host/hostess, you get real plates and silverware, you get a server that will clear you table, bring you drinks and condiments.

You can see many pics and get tons of info on my CSR website below.

for the Pepper Market you can purchase Quick & Casual vouchers and they make eating at the Pepper Market that much better.

Example...
Coronado Springs Pepper Market

steak dinner with potato & veggies - $16.95 Side salad - $3.95, smoothie - 3.95, dessert - $4.95, tax & gratuity - $6.41

Total:$36.17

I paid $15.20 for my vouchers on eBay and it will cover all of the above including tax and gratuity. Its a great deal!! The vouchers normally cost $11.50 from Connections and Simple Escapes programs or Hotwire Savings Club but you have to join their clubs.

since it is a large resort, you can use the bus system to assist you in your resort activities. This may help.

Utilize the buses instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.
