Hey All

Wanting some input from those of you who have stayed at POFQ. We are looking at staying here for the first time this year and need some help.
I think we are going to skip on the water view just to save a few bucks, so what building do you think is the best for a non waterview room? We would like to have a view of some greenery and not a parking lot and we were thinking the top ( 3rd? ) floor, just so we did not have much noise from above. We kind of like privacy and quiet but I know it's Disney so you can only go so far with that.

Thanks for your help everyone! :)

Building 6 is a nice location -we stayed there in September 2010. Two of the sides face the river (whether directly or indirectly) one faces an interior courtyard, the other faces the interior streets. No parking lot views. It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the bustop.

We stayed at the French Quarter in September, and it was FANTASTIC!!! This is my new favorite Disney hotel. Ask for a 3rd floor corner room. You will get extra light because you will have two windows instead of one. It was very quiet on the top floor.

Enjoy yourselves, you picked a great resort.

I'm a ground floor fan. Don't like climbing stairs late at night. One reason why I love this resort is the fact that it is so small and quiet that even the bottom floors don't have alot of noise (values do). I have stayed in buildings 3, 4 and 7. Liked them all. 4 was most convenient, 3 was quiet but I did have a parking lot view (didn't bother me though) and 7 was least convenient but was wonderfully situated halfway in between POFQ and POR so we used both the pool (and pool bar :cool1:) of each hotel. Still just a 5 minute walk to the buses..closer to the horseys :thumbsup2 and the quietest building on the property! Really cannot go wrong with room choice here though.

I took my daughters over Spring Break 2008 and we all LOVED POFQ. I'd love to stay there again. I totally agree, ask for a third floor, corner unit. I was in building 5 facing an interior courtyard (not the building facing the river) . It was very peaceful and quiet. I wanted to stay in a small resort and really researched this one. Nothing including the buses/parking lot is very far. ENJOY!

I'm going in March and I think I'm going to try and request building 6. We also booked a standard room since it was our only option! I read on other threads that some CMs aren't adding reservations and that the room selection is all done with computers now and won't see any room requests but I figured I would try and add one anyways. If anything, I'll ask a check-in if I'm given a different building. The resort is so small anyway that any building you get will be a building or two away from food, buses, etc.!

I always request first floor, building 4, courtyard view. Building 4 is usually closest to the main building and the bus stop. There is a chance you'll get a parking lot view, but I've been in that building four times and have only received a parking lot view once. With all the shrubs it wasn't bad at all and was almost within eyesight of the bus stop which was nice.

Just got back. Building 6, first floor and the added bonus of a riverview room for free. We were upgraded!!!! Beautiful location. It was just so quiet. And, the river is truly beautiful.

I like building 3 near the fountain. It's so beautiful there. It's close to the food court and main building and not far from the boat dock or pool. I'm not a fan of buildings 2 and 5 since the pool is between them. I've stayed in building 1 with a river view and won't pay for that anymore.

We have stayed in every building except 1 and 7 and really like all of them. None are really far away from anything. Even buildings close to the parking lot usually have greenery blocking the parking lot. In Nove we stayed in Bldg 4 right under the 4 on the map just posted. Our room was right above a courtyard and you could see the parking lot a bit BUT we could also see fireworks from right outside our room. I'm directionally challenged but I think maybe from Epcot by the timing? I do always ask not for 1st floor because it's so noisy from people walking by.
