I have read on the resort board a document was filed with the Orlando building permits for a bit of constuction for POFQ.

I also read a rumor that POFQ would be themed for the Princess and Frog movie, New Orleans since the resort name is Port Orleans French Quarter, just like the movie. :rotfl:

Is this true or a rumor?

Are POFQ rooms going to be updated sometime in late 2010 or early 2011 ?

Maybe just some work on the pool or grounds ?
But if it is a building permit, then a building would be changed, torn down or buildt.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks!

The refurb paperwork has been filed.

The Princess and the Frog thing is PURE rumor at this point. No word whatever from Disney itself on that part at all.. at least from any source positioned well enough to know for sure.

any idea when this will happen? We are going in Oct '10 - will we miss the construction?

Thanks :)

This won't impact anyone booked at the resort.. just as the Pop refurb hasn't bothered anyone.

They typically shut down one building at a time and do all the work in that building and then move on..

And this doesn't involve heavy machinery, jackhammers etc. It's very quiet work for the most part.. so you won't hear it in adjacent buildings.

I would believe if some of the rooms get princess and the frog theaming. Somthing along the line of the Nemo bedspreads at CBR.

I am hoping for the Prince & Frog themes at new rooms at POFQ.
Also I would love to see some new paint on the walls, rugs cleaned or replaced, new pillows and bed mattresses and some new bed spreads.

How cool it will be :)

Maybe a WDW official will read this thread and grant our wishes.:rotfl:

Last December the housekeeper said rehab was going to be in Oct. and that they where changing the tiles in the bathrooms and carpets, ect. I am real excited about the bathrooms. They need the update! It would be nice to have queen beds also.

What a nice idea - to replace bathroom tiles and the rugs.

I will stick with the double beds. It wil be easier for us to fit a twin blow up aerobed for our teen DD to sleep on while our teen DS sleeps in the bed.

Our DS is 6' 2" and will be 19 on our next trip to WDW (extra $15 a night).
Our DD is 5' and will be turning 16 on our next trip to WDW. She will fit in the twin areobed with no problem. Our DS likes a double bed all to himself. :rotfl:

I can not wait till December and some POFQ room reviews and reports, not that I want to rush though summer days at our pool. :goodvibes

Wow, this sounds awesome. When it's done I'll book a room at POFQ for my next vacation!
