Hi everyone hope all is well. I just came back on 7/25 from a wonderful 7 days at WDW...........over all we had a great time the parks were great . Me and my DS12 had a worderful vacation. I was in the airport on the way home and sitting with a smile and my son says to me "why are smiling" I told him because I was thinking about coming back already ! he started to smile..........

Now regarding POFQ, I have been there a few times now and I have to say they need a little magic there............the rooms need to be updated, the staff at the food court was not nice at all, personally I didn't have any problems, but I couldn't belive how nasty they were to others. the food was nothing to get excited about except of course the Beignets. Mousekeeping was o.k. there was a couple of times we needed to call for CLEAN towels, they forgot to give us cups and coffee we had to call for that as well . I didn't complain I didn't want to get anyone in trouble, maybe I should of  ........... What happen to the magic? It will be a long time before I go back there.........

On the plus side the buses were great over all our vacation was great, and I can't wait to get back to WDW. Thanks for reading............sorry so long :surfweb:

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy POFQ. What was wrong with your room? All of the rooms were completely redone in 2004, so I was suprised to hear you say they needed updating. I've had problems in the past trying to get extra towels at other resorts, and I agree with you it can completely frustrating!
Next time if something isn't right complain until it is!

Melissa

Sorry your stay at POFQ was magical. I was just there in March and had a terriffic stay.

You know now that you mention it I thought on our Oct trip the Cashiers in the foodcourt were a bit on the Rude side. I blew it off as it was just a short trip, our 1st at POFQ and didn't really happen to me.

Everyone else was just a dream and full of Magic.

I'm glad it didn't stop you from enjoying the rest of your magical stay.

Glad to hear you had a magical stay despite the problems you encountered. :thumbsup2 I was at POFQ last December and this past April and everyone we ran into was very accomodating and full of Disney magic. I loved the room decor but I will say they need to update the A/C units as they are L-O-U-D!

2 years ago we encountered the same issues, there was only 1 CM at that resort that crossed our path, who was lovely, the rest, were abrupt, grumpy or downright rude and this doesn't wash with me. We stayed 2 nights and moved, as we were staying 3 weeks, it would have had me dreading returning to the resort each night, I don't want to have to fight with CM's to get good service.

So we moved to the All Stars and they fell over themselves to make our stay great .....

We had issues with the front desk folks, very rude and lazy. No one went out of their way, even with a line 6 deep there were tons of folks just standing around talking instead of helping guests. They acted like they were doing you a favor, and heaven forbid you tell them that something was wrong on their end of the reservation and have the paperwork to back up your claim! They tried to tell us that we owed them for the ticket part of our reservation even though we were there on an AP discount and all had valid APs in hand. Nuts.

We spent 6 nights at POFQ last October. It was our first time at that particular WDW resort. While I liked the intimate, quaint atmospere of the place, I have to say the one big disappointment was the CMs at the food court and poolside bar. I really disliked going down for a bite to eat because the food servers and cashiers almost seemed to resent the fact that people had the nerve to bother them and purchase food!
There was one woman who worked at the food court who was very sweet. She would pass out stickers and bead necklaces to people as they ate.

The bartenders at the poolside bar, always opened later than the posted time and when they did open, I practically had to put on a show and dance to get their attention to get a drink: even when there were no other customers around.

That being said, the CMs at the gift shop were super nice and our rooms were always cleaned promptly and efficiently everyday.
I would probably stay there again if that was the only option available in our price range.

that is exactly how I felt, like we were doing them a favor for staying there. Nobody went out of there way for anything. It didn't bother my vacation, but like I said it would be a long time before I go back there.

Let me tell you one thing that happen. I was at the food court waiting for chicken strips minding my own business :rolleyes1 a young teenage girl approached the counter and very nicely asked for a turkey sub, since it was very noisy at the court, the CM behind the counter said to her "maybe if you open your mouth I could here you" and was MEAN, the kid looked at me and I thought she was going to cry, I gave that CM such a look, I felt so bad for the young girl. I said if someone said that to my son I would not have been happy at all.

I hope that not all the CMs at POFQ are lazy and rude. I remember at the Poly the CMs at CC were not too friendly and they made a mistake on my creidts too. Maybe the food service people get real stresses but that is no excuse either. Im still looking forward to our FQ trip

WOW! I've stayed there several times and have always been happy with everything. It's my favorite resort. If I had witnessed that I would have immediately found a manager to report that CM.

Wow! That is totally uncalled for!! I don't suppose you mentioned it to a manager?

I can never understand why some people work in customer service-related positions if they hate other people so much! :sad2:

Try to turn the tables and put yourself in the CMs place.
There is no telling how many very rude tourest that they
come across all day long who are very demanding.
People who are on Vacation forget that the CM are people to.
That is still no excuse for the CM to be rude. :hippie: :flower3:

I can relate. My family used to stay at POR quite often (way back to the Dixie Landings days). It's been about 5 years since we've stayed there, and we still talk about how rude the ladies in the food court were. :confused3 It sure doesn't make much sense. If I were at home, it probably would have really made me mad. :headache: I guess the disney magic allowed me to laugh it off...afterall, I was in Disney World. :thumbsup2 I'm glad you enjoyed your trip despite them!

Jeez, I hope they're all in a better mood come October.

I can tell you this, if I'm treated poorly or if I hear ANYONE treat a guest the way that girl was treated... the manager and everyone at Disney Guest Services will know that person's name. I don't like my job, either, but I still show basic common courtesy to people. There's no excuse for rude behavior.

I understand your feelings about POFQ! I thought it was just me. We decided to stay there on our last trip (which was in May). I had always read such wonderful things about it. We too were not that impressed with the conditions of the room. Our carpet was dirty and the room was musky. The grounds (pool and food court) were a mess as well. I know these things can happen anywhere but it wasn't even busy when we were there. I just did not feel that "Disney" magic. I am so glad Disney has so many resorts to choose from so everyone can find there own favorite. We will not be returning to POFQ anytime in the near future.

Never stayed at POFQ (been there to eat though), but I've had many resorts forget to stock coffee - both Disney and non-Disney.

I worked as a guestkeeper one day, not at WDW. It was probably the WORST job I ever had. I can't speak for Disney, and I don't want to hijack this thread...but suffice it to say that putting coffee in the room is one of the last things a mousekeeper does when they clean a room, and it's easy to overlook. Not everyone uses the coffee, so you don't stock every room - unless it's a checkout room - so it's an easy thing to forget.
