POFQ CLOSING INFO THREADS-UPDATED & CLEANED UP!

Okay - Any of you who started out with a $74 rate and got a cheaper upgrade to a non-AKL/WL deluxe for less than $124 - did you all have a FL Resident rate? Did anybody get less than $124 for the $74 postcard or email rate?

I called this morning and got BC for an additional $59.00 for 4 nights. I was paying rack rate before and think I did pretty good. Funny part is, I can't get a per night rate as they said it is all part of a package? Can someone help me understand?

Anyhow, for 5 nights CB and 4 nights BC, I am paying $1457 or $161/night average. Since I can't get my rate per night, don't know what I got for a rate at BC really....

She told me that I can not change my BC reservations unless I do it within 10 days, so I will not be able to apply any codes to this reservation in the event that AP rates come in lower. I would be able to change my CB though. Huh???

124 was the FL Resident rate at AKL, so no way is it the same at BWI. It would be much higher. It is still great rate, but why is there a difference? Couldl some of you who got those lower than 124 rates post what codes you were using? My mom was using the AEG -FL resident code.

Good Morning All! Seems like at least some here are able to get something that makes them pleased regarding the ressie switch. I am really hoping that everyone is able to change to something that fits their plans and budget--Karen (TLinden) I am really praying for ya here!

I went back to the original post and added the phone number for the relocation dept--it has been posted elsewhere in this thread and other places so I don't think that is a problem at this point in time. I also went back to the first 10 pages or so and removed alot of my posts that were pretty speculative in nature. I realize this thread is pretty long (no idea when I started it that it would have so many hits-lol) and for someone who is trying to get some good info the first part has lots of "what ifs, etc..". If anyone would like to remove their posts to make the thread a bit more manageable that would be great. Just go to edit when you see a thread you posted and the delete button will be right at the top of the next screen.

I'm hoping to see more good news posted about ressie changes.

I was able to get ours changed to the Poly for 5/17-5/19. We were originally paying $109 (pre-tax) for a king room at POFQ and we are paying about 139 (pre-tax) for a garden view room so that is fine with me. I realize we won't get a king room and are paying about $15 more per night since our original ressie was $15 more per night but that is fine with me for the Poly! :)

On another note, I have not been around much as I have not been feeling well, they are still trying to figure out the cause of my stomach pain and I have an ultrasound this AM--I'll let you all know how it goes. Thanks everyone for all the nice PMs, prayers and pixie dust, I had no idea how many PMs I had until this morning and I won't get to answer everyone personally. Thanks again everyone! Have a great day! :)

Got upgraded last night! I had a discounted rate of $74 per night at POFQ and was offered Yacht club at $30 more per night. Going 5/24-5/31 for $104 per night. The last time i went to WDW I stayed at All Stars for $99 so a huge leap in accommadations from last trip for $5 more per night.....

your TA thinks you may be able to apply any possible upcoming codes to your upsell rate?

If they do allow you to apply codes, remember that codes are discounts off the rack rates of the deluxe you changed to....not off what your current rate is or what the rack rate for POFQ was. For example...if AP rates are released and they were 40% discounts...that would be 40% off the rack rate of the resort you are now booked at, not off whatever your current rate is.

Hi Peachgirl

That is what I would have thought but unless I have read it wrong (which is always possible!!) that is not what Off2disney has been told by their TA.. which is why I was querying it.

I have heard nothing. Have all of you receiving upgrades called them or did they call you? To all previous displaced people from CB.... Did they wait till the last minute to call you? I am still trying to wait, but know how much longer I should wait. Starting to wonder if I have been forgotten??????? Anybody else out there still waiting? My trip is May 2-7. Am I alone in waiting for them or are there still others waiting. How long should I wait?? Thanks in advance for all your advice.

At long lost, I have finally heard about my upgrade. I am getting the Beach Club for an extra $33 per night. I'm paying about $140 per night including all taxes (I can't give an exact figure, as I am on a Dream Maker Silver package. Needless to say, I am thrilled beyond belief, and it's great to finally have this all settled.

Just for those who are still waiting, here are the other per night rates they offered me:

AKL standard--$12
AKL savannah--$22 (this was the first rate she offered me)
WL woods view--$12
Poly--$33

She didn't offer me Beach Club right off the bat. I had to ask for it. It was the one I listed as my first choice when cast members asked me to choose a resort.

Thanks again to everyone for your encouragement and support these past 10 days. I really appreciate everyone's kind words, and patience when I vented. I owe all of you a great big hug.

Karen

momtothreeangels - Don't wait. My dates are the same as yours, well accually May 5 - 10. I called on the weekend and was offered AKL. I called back yesterday and had more choices. We are now at the Poly. They weren't organized on the weekend and now they seem to have much more info. I would be afraid with your dates so close, your choices are really going to be limited.

Off2disney said that they were paying rack rate for POFQ. I'm not sure what that is, but I'm assuming around $135 - $150 or so? Anyway, if they were charged $10 more for WL, depending on the season, it's entirely possible that an AP rate would beat that price. I think the current codes are offering $139 for WL or AKL.

I don't recall where you're booked at now or what you said your rate was, but if someone was moved to AKL or WL who was paying rack rate at POFQ, it's possible that the price could be lower using a code rather than taking the upgrade. I would assume that's why the TA said what she did. Maybe in those instances they are allowing codes to be applied, but still it would apply to the rack rate of the new reservation I would think.

Just guessing, but even if you were paying rack rate at POFQ, other than those 2 deluxes, I don't believe anyone could get a better deal with a code.

Far be it for me to predict what WDW would do,;), but I'm assuming that if someone got the GF for $150 a night, they're not going to give them an additional 40% off that rate.

Anybody know what the deal is with my ressy? What I was told today was that if I wanted to cancel my upgrade to take a code later, I would be subject to all cancellation penalties, etc. unless I did so within 10 days. If that is the case and an AP code came out, she said that I won't be able to take advantage of it. I think my rate is higher than the AP rates were last year for BC.... Still confused....Is this because I am booked with WDW Travel Co?

When I called the relocation and spoke told the CM we had the $74 a night postcard rate, I was told that the codes for that promo were not in the system, but she was able to give me the Poly for $124 a night plus tax. She told me to check back later that the pricing might be different when that particular code is available. Well she was right !! After a short phone call today, the CM readjusted our Poly reservation to $104 a night plus tax !!! That rate is unheard of !!! Thanks all for your posts. You have saved me an incredible amount of money on this trip !!!!

I finally got around to calling about our ressies for 6-21 thru 6-29. We had POFQ for $104 per night (after tax) & got AKL Savannah View for $127 per night (after tax). CM told me that the room is normally $315 per night! Needless to say, I'm super excited! This is going to add a nice touch to our anniversary (10 years together & 4 married).:bounce:

WOW!! Super rate Minnies Guy. We got Poly for $124 p/n. I heard someone on another thread refer to all of us that are getting cheap upgrades as refugees. Maybe, they were angry that we were paying so much less than they were. The way I see it, I have no problem with someone paying a lower price than me. It's not like Disney just decided to give everybody a discount. We are being displaced from a resort that was our first choice. I guess maybe some people are worried that maybe they will be next to someone of a "lower class" than them. I hope that is not how they feel. We are all Disney fans and I think that it is great that some of us are getting to experience something that we may have never been able to otherwise. I am glad to see that WDW is taking care of its guests and going the extra mile for them. See ya'll at the parks!!!!;) ;) ;)

I just got off the phone with someone from the relocation team and we can't move up from standard view rooms at AKL to pool view rooms. The girl I talked to said they aren't including the pool view rooms in the FQ relocation. It would be $350 more to move up to savannah view so I guess we are stuck with the parking lot. I have to say she was not a very happy camper today either. She was downright nasty in my opinion. She said she is tired of guests from FQ not wanting to keep what is given to them.

welovedis...I'm so happy to see you posting again. I hope they find what ails you real soon so you'll be all better! I did go and delete some of my posts on this thread and I'll delete more a bit later. Take care.

Disney Freaks--I'm sorry you weren't able to get a better view, but you still got a great deal at a cool resort. I know you said you are paying for your kids rooms. Perhaps you can explain the situation to them, and they would be willing to kick in a bit to get the better room. After all, you are being really generous paying for their rooms. Just a thought.

If you don't do that, mention at check-in that it is your daughter's (or was it your son's) honeymoon, and perhaps they will upgrade you at that time if rooms happen to be available. You never know.

Oh, and I can't believe that the cast member was so rude to you, and made that comment about being tired of FQ guests not wanting to take what is given to them. How un-Disney. That is sooooooo unprofessional.

No matter what, you are going to Disney World, and I'm sure you'll have an amazing trip.

I'm no expert on this..but I think what's eating up some of your savings is that only a portion of your reservation was upgraded, so you're stuck with that rack rate for the CBR. I don't think it has anything to do with who you booked with. The only difference between WDW Travel and CRO or Disney Club are different cancellation policies, but even CRO is changing to WDW Travel rules. If you wanted to apply codes later, as long as you do it within 45 days of your arrival, you could without any penalties.

If I'm wrong with the facts on any of this, it throws my theory right out the window, but here's what I'm using for figuring all this....

You were booked for 5 nights CBR, then 4 nights at POFQ?
You were paying rack rate for each resort.
You upgraded to the BC for the 4 nights at POFQ.
Your rate before all these changes was $1398 ($1457-$59 upgrade fee)

Assuming that's all correct.....Since the CBR rate didn't change, it looks to me like you were, and still are, paying around $155 a night for the CBR and POFQ ($775 total). That leaves $682 for 4 nights at the BC or about $170 per night.

The best AP rate is usually about 40%. Assuming your going during value season, and using the rack rates that Disney lists, the BC would run about $200 per night, including tax. Your rate for the BC is very good, and better than I think you'll ever get with an AP discount. It's not as good as those who had a very cheap rate at POFQ to begin with though.

I hope that wasn't all too confusing, but that's what I think is going on with your reservation.

On another subject.....

"I heard someone on another thread refer to all of us that are getting cheap upgrades as refugees."

Don't go getting all insulted and defensive. Those of us who were booked at the CBR last year called ourselves refugees. It's just a humorous way to shorten up saying "POFQ guests who are being transferred to a different resort". If you say POFQ refugee, everyone knows what you're talking about. As for me, I could care less what anyone else pays or if it's cheaper or more expensive than what I pay. I don't see how it affects me, so it doesn't bother me one way or the other. I've never understood why some people get so concerned about making sure no one got anything better than they did, but that attitude isn't confined to just those who didn't book at the POFQ.;) .

Thanks for the info Peachgirl. I feel a lot bettter about things now!

No problem, I have nothing better to do while I'm waiting to see if those AP rates are ever coming out!;)

Just a thought regarding your split stay...

I wonder if your confirmation for both resorts will be combined into one form. In other words, do you just have one confirmation number?

If you do only have one reservation number, then I don't guess there's anything you could do about applying rates to the CBR portion of your stay. If, however, they did it like they do all normal split stays...treat each one as an individual reservation with two confirmation numbers, I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to apply any upcoming codes to the CBR portion of your stay. I know you said the CM told you it was a "package" price, but if you have 2 confirmation numbers, they didn't price it together as a package. Each reservation would have it's own rate.
