POFQ CLOSING INFO THREADS-UPDATED & CLEANED UP!

Good Morning All!

As someone else posted, I'm also glad to see lots more "smilies" here than this time last week! :)

cathyce2-sounds like you got a great rate for AKL, hope your trip goes wonderfully! I don't know when your trip is, but hope you post a trip report. We'll be there in 1/04 and looking forward to hearing more about your experience there.

susy-that is an awesome rate for BWI!!!

Kuzco-Another awesome rate for AKL! Remember to post a trip report when you get back! :)

epcotitis-which number are you calling? If you are trying to direct relocation line (1-407-939-7919) that is a really long wait! :(

honeychild-that rate doesn't sound right at all. I would call your TA back ASAP and have them check again. No way would that price be right from the relocation department.

photobob-AKA "I'm Not Worthy"Bob-LOL, I would definitely call and ask my a room with a daybed. There is no guarantee as they are not included in all the rooms, but there is not harm in asking. Good Luck!

justhat-I think some here are going in that time frame but they placed the calls to the CRO themselves. Did you try calling yet or were you waiting for them to call you? I don't think there is any harm to calling yourself and see what is offered.

HTH!

I just realized yesterday that we are under 60 days. We are not planning major excursions into the parks so I didn't have to worry about dining too much. We were looking forward to being at PO for both the food courts and restaurants there plus DTD. So with the plans we had about the only upgrade that would work without major dining expenses is epcot area. I checked alot of menus around Poly and they are soooo expensive.
I realy want this settled now because we are inside the 60 days. I am surprised they haven't called. I really tried to wait for them because I thought I might get a better deal.
Also I wanted to add a day....

But then we could do a lot of boating and biking at WL or another MK resort. I don't know....too many choices....and they will probably only offer CSR I really don't like that one.

BTW is there a better number to call...w-disney? relocation number?

Thanks we'll give them a call later today. We were away the past 2 weeks so we didn't want to bother calling on our vacation, but since it seems that they are still calling people arriving in May, we might as well call them before all the resorts get booked up. Thanks!

epcotitis-I posted it in my remarks to you above. :)

I would advise calling the relocation department at an odd time. I called at about 6:00 PM EST on Sunday night and got right through. Maybe I was just lucky, but I did not have to wait at all on hold. When I called in the afternoon on Saturday, I waited on hold for like 15 minutes (4 songs I believe) before the message kicked in to leave your name and number and that Disney would call you back.

Of course, if you like the Disney Mania cd, you could always stay on hold long enough to hear all of it!

I had a great experience with the relocation team. As with others they initially moved me from POFQ to CSR, then when the codes were available, I was moved to the YC for $30 per night. I can't wait until Memorial Day weekend!

Go ahead and call the relocation number. We were at PO-FQ in early June. I called Thursday morning at 9:45 am, got a message that the volume of calls was large and I might be on hold longer than usual, and then less than 30 seconds after the message I was talking with an very nice CM who got us moved to a new resort. She gave me all the options available and the total price for the rooms for each resort, so have a calculator ready to figure out the price per night. For our dates we were offered AKL, WL, BWI, Poly and GF

We decided to go for the GF, once in a lifetime price, although my husband thinks WDW is doing the bait and switch on us as we are paying more for the GF than PO-FQ :). But we have always wanted to stay there and this is a great opportunity. The CM was very nice and very patient as it took me a while to make up my mind about where to stay. I hadn't expected to be offerd GF so hadn't even considered it prior to the call. My advice is to check out info on all the resorts and have a mental priority list before you call. Good luck on getting the "new" resort you want.

Sorry I am just getting a chance to post. I finally got my call on Wednesday afternoon. I got the same deal that most others have been posting.

My original room was a Waterview at POFQ for $89+ Tax.
I was offered BC or BWI for $104 + Tax or AKL for $94 + Tax.
They did not even mention the other moderates.

In my case it seems like they added the extra $30 to the standard view rate of $74 instead of the waterview rate of $89 that I had reserved (of course I'm not complaining since it saved me $$!). I am so excited to be staying at the BC!

I'm glad to hear that most people are all set with their reservations too.

Hope everyone has a great time!

Well it's done. I am happy and relieved and well...ready to search for places to eat and make dining ressies.:) Oh yeah and where do I request a room at AKL?

We got the same as everyone else with our code. Initially offered the POLY then BWI then BC then AKL sv. I had such a hard time choosing so we hopped from BC for three nights to AKL for 2 nights. Of course they were more than happy to add a night at the same price! COOL!
I'm soooo excited about the resorts I may not even go to the parks!

My DH was so happy he wrote the check to put in the mail tomorrow for the whole reservation. What an angel!!!

Someone direct me to the place to get a countdown for my sig line!!!

Our first trip post 911...can't wait! :) :earsboy: :sunny:

Hi . . . been lurking for a while.

We were booked at POFQ in mid-Sept for a water view room at full rack ($148). Our TA got us an upgrade to Poly Lagoon View for $30/night more. It's not as great a deal as others have gotten, but it's still a lagoon view at a great rate that we can afford.

Just curious though which building we'll end up in as we have a child w/asthma so Tuvalu is out of the picture. Tahiti is supposed to be housing concierge and Tokelau only has a few lagoon view rooms. Guess we'll just have to wait for an answer to this one!

This site is a wealth of info. Thanks to you we were able to call our TA and tell her which resorts we wanted and our max $ for upgrade.

:D

Thanks for all the great advise!

I couldn't stand it anymore and called the relocation number myself. I was very honest and told the lady that my reservatons were through a travel agent, I also told here about the $155 WL offer. She was helpful and told me that she couldn't make any changes to my reservation, my TA would have to do that, but she did look up my reservation, gave me a code to tell my TA, and told me my upgrade options.

I emailed my TA and explained everything to her. She called, used the new code (I guess) and got the rates the CM had told me about.

We now have the WL - wood view for $200. more for a 6 night stay. That comes out somewhere around $30.00 more a night. We were at the POFQ for $74 a night and I figure the WL at $104 a night is a great deal.

Thanks for the pixie dust!

Now I've got to go learn about renting boats!

Honeychild -

We were offered WL at $10 p/n. I have also read many posts that other people were offered the same. Maybe you could have your TA check again.

Buzzlady,
Thanks for the advise...I'm not sure if you read me earlier post. I was originally offered WL at $155 a night. WOW was I shocked...that's the best my TA could do? So, I called myself and got the lower rate, had to call my TA to get her to make the changes. While I realize that my rate isn't as low as others have gotten, I didn't feel that $104 a night - woods view was really that bad. Disney doesn't really owe me anything and this is a better rate than I could have gotten otherwise. (I would have loved the $10 upgrade, but I feel that my hands are tied using a TA.)

THANKS AGAIN!

buzzlady and honeychild,

You sound very fortunate with your rates...

My original rate at POFQ was about $153 per night , with taxes included...

I was upgraded to WL for $22 a night...not to bad, but not as good as some on here have gotten....

What I hope is that some codes come out that may let me reduce my rate some...but that may be wishful thinking....I am thankful to have gotten in the WL the week before the 4th of July and at a decent rate...but I wish I could do a little better or get a better room..

I booked my original reservation thru the Disney Club.

Turbodisney - I will be at WL 4th of July (actually 6/30 - 7/7)

Yes, all of these rates are great. It's a once in a lifetime offer.:Pinkbounc

This isn't the best rate I've read here but we were paying full rack rate at POFQ at 144.00 plus tax and now we're paying 153.00 for AKL Savanna View. I've requested non smoking, 3rd or 4th floor Zebra Trail, Queen bed with bunk beds. This is our first time to stay anywhere other than All Stars which we have always enjoyed but I have a feeling we're in for a real treat. FYI in 2000 we paid 110.00 plus tax to stay in AS Movies so I think we got a GREAT deal considering that!!!!:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Turbodisney - lol - just look for the family with a BIG smile on their face:D ;)
