POFQ and POR

I was looking at a map of the two resorts. It looked like some of the buildings in POFQ were actually closer to the lobby of POR than some of the buildings actually at POR. DW and I love to see Bob at least once when we stay at POR. I was considering changing up next trip, but was wondering how convenient it would be. It looks like next trip may be during Pop Warner week. I have heard that POR was crowded that week, but I had not heard that about POFQ. And since POFQ is smaller I thought there might be something to that.

Is it actually closer or is the map just out of scale?

The map is perfectly to scale, but your interpretation of the relative distances is off. I can see where the farthest corner of Building 7 is closer to the outer edge of the POR parking lot than it is to POFQ's main building, but if you use any object held up to your computer screen as a standard, you'll see that the outermost corner of Building 7 is closer to POFQ's main building than it is to POR's main building.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the measurement I just suggested only measures "as the crow flies" but does not measure the actual walking distance. You can get from Building 7 to the POFQ main building by walking almost a straight line, with one or 2 right-angle turns. But the walk from Building 7 to POR's main building would involve a sweeping curve and then another lengthy curve or two, further increasing the actual walking distance.
